“I have to say something negative about the chairs and tables. They are all made out of metal and the staff do not know how to lift them off of the ground. So several times, we could not even think straight because of the nose that they made rearranging tables and chairs... Deafening. You definitely cannot have a conversation if they are rearranging anything.Food great, drinks great, atmosphere and location great. Ethan was our server and he was always available and had all the answers and suggestions we needed.This is definitely one of the better waterfront eateries in the area.“
“Really enjoyed chatting with the good folks who run Midtown Cafe, friendly people! Was looking for a place to get a vegan plate one evening after painting a mural in daytona and this was the only place I felt comfortable popping into. They have a beyond burger w an awesome grainy bun and can make several of their dishes vegan! Love the arts initiative that the cafe has supported as well. Clean, reasonable prices AND they have beer and kombucha ok A++“

“I've been wanting to try A Golden Taste since I arrived in Daytona and this was the first opportunity I had to try them out and I'm definitely happy. Of course I decided to try the oxtail and I wanted to try the cabbage but it wasn't ready so after confirming the greens didn't have pork in them, I went with those. When I got to my car, I opened the box and everything looked amazing. I tried the greens first and they are good. I could taste the butter, so please don't tell me how many calories or sticks are in it. They were also very tender but not mushy and if they're from a can, I could not tell. Also I have no idea if they're fresh or canned so I think that's a good thing. You can see from my pictures the perfect coloring on the oxtail with no char and upon my first bite they were extremely meaty and flavorful. I will not show you an after picture of just the bones remaining LOL. I love the fact there wasn't too much browning seasoning or whatever seasoning is put in that gives it a very strong burnt taste. It didn't I have that at all from what I can tell and the flavoring of the meat shown through. I was sent it to try some other dishes but wanted to keep it safe since I was driving an hour away. I am so pleased that I was finally able to make it to try their food and definitely plan on coming back when I'm back in the area. When I read over my post making sure everything was correct I had to change my verbs to past tense because yes I was writing about this dish as I was eating it because it was that good. The only thing I was not a fan of was the rice which was really mushy and I'm hoping it wasn't from the other day but that's the feeling I got from it. I didn't eat much of it and the oxtails were over top of it so it's soaked up a lot of that flavor.“

“What a nice place! Ambiance. Great servers and food. I had the mahi blt. The only way to make this a 5 is to have great bacon. It was a 5! Fries were awesome. Fish is cooked and seasoned perfectly. Great view of the river and marina.“
