“We love this little pizza place. People are sweet, caring and just down right friendly. We have been coming here now for about 6 years. Food is good and pizza is best. Not greasy, not dripping with oil just yum. You wont have a bad experience, it's not a fancy place, but it's simple and fast. The girls all know us, tell them we sent you. EnjoyStephanie, Noah, john and Jordan.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free“
“I found a gem! Tucked away in a little strip mall off Blanding is a place called Sorbellos Authentic Sicillian...Basically, I went there just to get a pizza to go but took Sarah up on Her wine suggestion. Both the pizza and wine were delicious, but the conversation I had with Sara was priceless. I went there on a Saturday afternoon, and there really weren't too many people there, so I was taken care of right away. I realize that by writing this review, there will probably be more people there on my next visit, but, to me, it will be well worth a little longer wait to try some more of Sara's cooking. ThankYou Sara for the food, the wine, and especially the conversation!“
“The garlic knots as an appetizer were delicious. I got a meatball sub and fries and my daughter got a calzone. We couldn't eat it all so brought half our food home. We both enjoyed our food and will be back again. The waitress said they've been there for 14 years. I never knew it was there until today. The little local restaurants are definitely better than the chain restaurants to me. 3/12/2024✌️??“
“Whoops, It was a long day and I forgot to take photos.Very nice place, everyone was very friendly. The bathroom were clean and the kitchen area I could see was spotless. The service was quick, the portions were a healthy size and the food was tasty. Absolutely no complaints here. Definitely, worth a stop, it is probably the best Italian food on this side of town. We will definitely return but before I do I need to lose about 20lbs so it may be a little while bc Lord knows eating here won't help me. Hahaha. Come check it out. Definitely worth it.“
“Stopped here for a quick lunch before the long, boring drive back to Tallahassee. Cool little area of restaurants and bars. Staff was super-friendly and cool, and the 90's rock was a plus. Pizza was outstanding and made with high quality ingredients. A little higher priced than some pizza places, but I'll pay for higher quality any day of the week. Parking might be a challenge on weekends and nights, but no issues during the late lunch time. Would def eat here again.“
“The marinara sauce is absolutely THE BEST sauce I've ever had! Seriously. It's mouth watering. It's addicting. Yum. We've also had their pizza and eggplant parmesan -- also delicious! ? We will definitely come back again and again!!“
“Love Josephine and been here many times for dinner and brunch. Hilarious to read some of these reviews (they didn't have chicken piccata, calling the owner defensive in his replies to reviews because he communicated back to random people who said the handmade pasta is the worst pasta they've ever had...). That is a professionalism I have to commend. Anyhow, yes it is upscale. The restaurants on the Avondale strip have been terrible for a long time (they were just the same restaurant-- American food with a southern touch, how unique). Finally we get a real restaurant. The drinks are delicious. The focaccia is awesome, yes it's $10 but you know what, it's a bread appetizer. Maybe don't expect an entire loaf of it. You're going out to eat, you shouldn't expect food to be $3.99 because you can get a loaf at Publix (a nod to other idiotic comments in here). Caesar salad is great---the first time I went there I felt it was too anchovy forward, but since then it's been dressed perfectly and the anchovy dialed back. That's exactly what you want with a restaurant, they try things, adjust, listen. The braised beef ravioli and bolognese are my favorites by far. And the meyer lemon tart is my go to dessert. I'd encourage you all to read the 1 star reviews if you have any apprehensions about going here, and understand it is people who think they can treat staff terribly and be treated like kings, think food is too salty (at a scratch italian restaurant), want sides with their lasagna (what?), thought it was too expensive, thought things were bland, and the list goes on. All I can say is...I've had these dishes and they're delicious. Not bland. Not salty. You go to a nice restaurant, they don't give you a heaping plate for you to stuff your face with until you're sick. And they charge you more because they use higher quality ingredients and make things by hand. The sound issue was a very real thing and again, they listened (literally) and dealt with it. I would ask my fellow Jacksonvillians to stop ruining every good thing that happens here because it isn't like the Carraba's they're used to. Sigh. Thank you guys for creating Josephine and looking forward to many more meals here. Cheers!“
“Such a nice little place that's clearly popular, so come early or make sure you have a reservation! Popped in for a light meal and we're definitely coming back for more. Chris and the staff are attentive and service is generally quite prompt for whatever you order. Can be a bit busy for date night, but is still a great place to dine alone or in groups.“
“We had a business lunch at Taverna in San Marco yesterday and I have to say I was impressed with the service, food and ambiance of the restaurant. We had reservations so we were greeted and seated right away. They have outdoor seating on a front patio and it was a beautiful day but we chose to eat inside. It was pretty crowded but it was never so loud we couldn't hear each other speak. Our waitress was right there to take our drink order as we waited for the third member in our party to arrive. Once everyone was there we all ordered lunch. I ordered a beat salad with no extra protein, my husband ordered a chicken sandwich with a side salad and our colleague ordered a pasta dish. We chatted and I was surprised how quickly our food arrived. Everything was delicious! Our waitress was pretty intuitive, she realized that we were having a little business meeting so she cleared our dishes out of the way and was around to check in and refill our drinks. I want to return and try some fresh pasta the next time we come back. It really looked delicious. I highly recommend Taverna we had a great experience and I know you will too!“
“Went for dinner tonight & was pleasantly surprised. I had the olive oil & garlic pasta with shrimp. If you love garlic, you will LOVE this dish! I got to try the bruschetta & it was so good! Service was excellent as well. Can't wait to go back & try the lobster tail pastry puff.“
