great service, good food, warm atmosphere and great music plus location
Today was my second visit to Jam-Eng's location in the Oviedo Mall. I got the oxtail dinner as take-out. I got home and found I only had 1.5 oxtails for $24, the rest was potatoes and rice. The entire dish was very dry and bland. Very disappointed, won't go back.

Jam-Eng Caribbean And English Cuisine offers a mixed experience. While some customers appreciate the quick service and delicious food, like the finger-licking good patty, others have experienced delays and mediocre meals. Prices may be steep, and dishes like jerk chicken and oxtail with rice and peas can be hit-or-miss. The restaurant is known for its friendly and respectful staff, making customers feel welcome. The food is generally tasty, with flavorful oxtails served with gravy, and the atmosphere is chill with good music creating a relaxed vibe. The restaurant is open early and late, providing convenient hours for all. Even with the pricing, the staff clearly cares about providing good food at affordable prices. Many customers appreciate the warm interior, which is common among Caribbean restaurants, and the variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Recent visitors have praised the service, noting that the staff makes everyone feel happy and treated with kindness. One customer enjoyed the express curry, finding it a large portion for the price. Others mentioned that the cashier offers samples to help decide, with the brown stew chicken being a favorite. A popular choice is the jerk chicken sandwich, praised for its soft bread and flavorful, sauced chicken, though some wished for a little more chicken on the sandwich. Overall, many recommend trying the dishes like the patty or jerk chicken, as the seasoning can be adjusted to personal taste, and the portions and prices are often considered good value.
