Ormond Crab House

FYI: Cash only! We drove from our rental condo and usually dont carry cash anymore. Luckily I had enough cash to buy a dozen large blue crabs. Good thing a dozen was enough for me and my foodie friend. Some of the crabs were medium sized though. No eating at the premises, best to take out and enjoy where there's shade or AC. I've lived in Ormond Beach and Port Orange since 1986 and somehow never knew about this place. Went today and the food was fresh and delicious, the location on the Tomoka River is amazing. Definitely a "shack" but don't be put off by appearance, this place is a gem! Get it to go or sit at on old picnic table by the river with no table service, there is none. BYOB, chill with friends and family, the old days of Florida .

A wonderful, tucked away, not your particular restaurant right on an inlet. I ordered 2 pounds of crawfish and 1 pound of snow crab legs and boy were they so soft and delicious. Everything was boiled as soon as it was ordered so it was guaranteed fresh. It was a little messy, but paper towels were provided. We had boxes that the food came in and since there were only two of us it was manageable but if there are more people definitely bring your own plates. Overall a great experience...read full review
