“Went to Bavaro’s tonight for dinner and can’t say enough good things. The ambiance, the service was top notch, the chairs so comfortable and the food was absolutely delicious. Our server Steven (I hope that was his name) was beyond professional and I couldn’t ask for better. Prices are fair and the wine list is inviting. We started with the fire grilled broccolini which was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Had a lovely super Tuscan with my penne with vodka sauce and shrimp. You could literally taste every delicious layer of flavor in this sauce. My boyfriend had the wild grilled salmon and we split the roasted broccolini for an appetizer. Completed with two home made delicious cannoli’s to go. The salmon but it was cooked perfectly and a huge piece of salmon (like 8oz) Will definitely be back and absolutely encourage anyone looking for real authentic Italian to check it out.“

Inside the place was buzzing with many people arriving only to be disappointed because they hadn't booked. Fortunately, were aware of the restaurant's popularity. Service was friendly, but a little slow because the place was packed - forgiveness there then. The food was ample to quell our appetite and very tasty. Prices were a little higher than regular, but well worth it. I couldn't complete this review without mentioning the three artists working on their canvasses producing fine artwork for sale. The walls of the restaurant were lined with masses of canvasses in all shapes and sizes with some spectacular examples. It seemed that each time you looked at a wall a different piece would be observed.In the centre of the restaurant was a cocktail bar which appeared to be imbibing various samples of food. We need to explore this next time we visit. Is next week too soon?“

My in laws got the lasagne, my husband got the Ragu, and I got the risotto special that had prosciutto and burrata. This was easily the best meal we had while in Sarasota. “Last week I was walking back to my car after picking up a pizza from one of the neighboring restaurants in the same plaza. A gentleman on the sidewalk stopped me, asked if I had ever tired the pizza at Tralia. I told him no, I’d never even heard of the place. He pointed it out to me, just a few doors down and began to rave about the place. He said they do a thin crust, but their Detroit style was amazing. Was going to stop in and pick up a menu but they weren’t open at the time. I was in the area today so decided to check it out. He was not wrong. Although I usually prefer a NY style, I decided to take his recommendation and ordered the classic Detroit with extra sauce. It was incredible. After just one visit, this is now our go-to for pizza. Hands down, best in the area.“

The mixed green salad was so fresh, cold and nicely dressed with a citrus vinaigrette! “WOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!Absolutely Fabulous EVERYTHING!!I ordered the Italian Sausage with Broccoli Rabe and my friend got the 4 cheese pizza with mozzarella, provolone, grana padano and SCAMORZA CHEESE!!!!! Its was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! The crust-PERFECTION! We got to meet the owner, Giuseppe who is from Puglia. I thanked him for bringing me back to my Great Grandma’s kitchen when I was a kid because NOBODY EVER made the sausage and broccoli rabe like her and everyone’s that I’ve tried since then was over cooked or lacking flavor or just plain not good. This was as close as I’ve ever had and can’t wait to go back to have it again!! For desert we had Tiramisu and the crème puffs. Guys……. When I tell you I had an out of body experience…… that Tiramisu was cosmic! The crème puffs were so light and creamy ……. True quality in all of the ingredients used. Definitely an AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant and everything is definitely home made and made with love like Italian food is supposed to be!! We had the bruschetta as an appetizer….. The meats on the pizza were crisp and salty - exactly what I like on my pizzas.Beyond food, I paired the pizzas with the "Charlie's Blood Orange Wheat" beer from Big Top Brewing Company, which is a beer unique to Origin. Maybe they felt because I had a hat on shorts that I did not fit a certain profile and she was frankly just arrogantly rude. While I called it out to her directly and I think she did recognize her rudeness, outside of that the food was absolutely spectacular.We highly recommend the chicken, Parmesan, the meat, lovers, pizza, and the tortellini. All of them were absolutely amazing. Great flavors, not heavy, and the side salad is a perfect salad to share for three or more people if it’s a large. The pasta was hot and perfectly al dente along with the pizza.I would give it five stars had we just not been rudely approached by the hostess this would be 5 star. I will adjust my review in the future if we experience anything different but you just can’t be the representation of a great restaurant for one of the best experiences you will have in downtown Sarasota for the money and quality. “The food was good (it was ice cold though)... We sat in the arcade so there was really no service to speak of. We put our order in at the ice cream counter and they brought it out to us eventually. The kids really enjoyed the arcade and of course as parents we were happy to see our kids happy! We have been there one other time for my son's birthday party and the food was excellent then. This time it was okay it was just cold. I didn't want to complain so we just got it to go and ate it at home (after heating it up of course)...
