Around 7:15pm on a Monday, we walked in the food court, they offered us bourbon chicken and orange chicken samples, both were super flavourful! (Think that classic bourbon chicken from your favorite mall growing up... straight up nostalgia)

Without hesitation, we ordered... 2x two meat plate with two sides. Both meals with bourbon chicken and orange chicken. They proceeded to make our meat options fresh to order from the kitchen (Not something you typically expect from a food court)! We loved it!

The food was just as tasty as the samples, super reasonably priced, and containers packed full!

For a fast food spot, the fried chicken was delicious with a nice flavor, and the lo mein noodles were tender. My friend recommended me this place because he said that you can basically get two full meals for $8 and he was not lying at all. The lunch special is an incredible value and it tastes delicious. I ordered the chicken and mixed vegetables w/ chicken fried rice & wonton soup and it was probably the best Chinese takeout I’ve ever had. It was annoyingly fresh, I had to wait for it to cool down after my 15 minute car ride. The sauce was sweet & salty and overall pretty darn great. I got three massive wontons in my small thing of soup. The lady at the front who answers the phone is really sweet and you can see the entire kitchen from the front, they’re not hiding anything. All the chefs seemed professional & were wearing sanitary things. FYI: call in your order instead of placing it online cause they charge a $1 surcharge for an online order and they don’t if you just call. 100% recommend this place, the people leaving bad reviews probably were one off experiences. I will say that my food tasted a bit like plastic in some spots, but I’m certain that’s from the styrofoam container & not the actual food itself. Maybe they can switch to a paper box in the future?“

The Wonton Soup tasted as though it was a good bone broth not from a box or powder and the wontons are the largest I’ve ever had in wonton soup and well stuffed with flavorful meat. The Chicken Fried Rice was super tasty so much so that it is easy to over eat! It was moist and had a deep rich fried texture with a nice pairing of vegetables and small to large size pieces of chicken….excellent! The Chicken on a Stick served up enough for a meal portion although we shared it between 2 as there was so much rice. It’s hard to believe they can get that much rice in a box. Next time I’ll get 2 soups because I really could have gone through it all by myself or saved a little for today!“

Very authentic New York style Chinese, the food is consistently fresh and delicious, not to mention they’ve had my take out order ready when I arrive every time. “If you Google "China Star" your order will be hijacked by Door Dash. They have marked up the prices ($3.50 for plain lo mein vs. $2.75 if you order at the counter or by phone) as well as assessing a delivery fee and mandating a tip. Evidently they don't "get" the idea that the faster they get it to your door, the bigger the tip. Although the checkout allows you to select "pickup" the web genie will not process an order unless you select "delivery".In other words, China Star is great — and needs to cut all ties with DoorDash“
