“The Habanero Grill 1851 Palm Bay Rd NE Suite 2, Palm Bay, FL 32905 4.5 Stars The one thing you rarely see in a "Mexican" restaurant in the good old US of A is a personage from Mexico. According to a Pew Research Study, most of you, except for college or military service, would find this extremely surprising, as 57% of us have never left our home state. However, those who travel know this is because your local "Mexican" restaurant is Tex-Mex at best and so far from a real representation of the gastronomical delights originating in Mexico as to be unrecognizable as such. Not so for The Habanero Grill. This place was packed with people from Mexico. Having never experienced this, my guest and I paused upon entering. Maria, the worldly-wise owner, greeted us and immediately put us at ease with her understanding of the English language. My dining partner spoke Spanish, which was a plus but not a requirement by a long shot. When in doubt, nod, smile, and point! Having only read about the Mexican delicacy of an authentic Mole sauce, I ordered the Mole chicken along with some Carne asada and Huevos chorizo. With our order in, we sat back, took in a friendly, rousing atmosphere, snapped a few pictures, and thought of setting up a game of bumblepuppy on a napkin to pass the time when our food arrived. Just take a peek at those pictures, people! The plates are loaded with scrumptious-looking grub if there ever was any. If it tasted half as good as it looked and smelled, this would be one hell of a bang for your buck. First up on my ever-critical palate was the dish I had never tried, the Chicken Mole. Generally speaking, a mole sauce will contain fruits, nuts, chili peppers, and spices like black pepper, cinnamon, cumin, and even dark chocolate. I also heard that in some parts of Mexico, it is made with fresh chicken blood from that night's dinner, but this is unverified. The classic mole is known as mole poblano and is dark red or brown and served over meat. Based on the color, this was the variety I was served. The plate consisted of a leg/thigh piece slathered in the mole. The chicken was cooked to a perfect doneness, and my first foray into mole was a foodie's delight! What a sauce! The complexity yet melding of the spice combination set my taste buds to dancing. As hard as it was to stop eating this otherworldly sauce, I had a job to perform. Moving on to the Carne Asada. This dish was spot on. The meat may have been just a tad overdone, the reason for the 1/2 star loss on the rating, but the flavors were outstanding, and I had a severe fiesta going on in my mouth while still having one more dish to sample! The last dish to grace my palate today was the Huevos chorizo. I absolutely love a good chorizo. Combine that with perfectly cooked eggs, some rice and beans, and I am there. The chorizo was magnificent, just superbly seasoned. I don't know where they get it, but I will ask next time. The eggs were perfect, and the sides were excellent. I would gladly eat here once a week. The Big Boy says, "Winner, winner, mole dinner!"“

“The gentleman that assisted us was excellent, he really knows how to put love into everything he does, and definitely works hard to provide a top notch experience for patrons! He definitely put heart and soul into the chicken quesadillas and chicken torta my partner and I had this afternoon. We were amazed and taken aback by how absolutely stellar and delicious the food was. Flavorful, fresh ingredients, and just an all around amazing experience. This place does not get enough love for its food and its service to the food industry. I will definitely stop by more often and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic quesadillas, cow tongue, carne asada, and Torta! You will not be disappointed!“

“We had our first Bubbakoo’s last night and it was better than Chipotle. And I LOVE Chipotle. I have a new favorite though. Can’t wait for next time!“

“They are usually clean here. Usually very helpful. My only issue and it may just be a corporate thing. The amount of food the put in a taco is ridiculous. One taco had, and I counted, 11 shavings of cheese and 5 pieces of lettuce. The meat was almost nonexistent. I was eat a sorry excuse for a taco and mostly shell. They give you the option of how much sauce you want but it's never correct. Taco bell there is a lot of waste there. If I ask for 15 Diablo, I am going to toss the weaker stuff. Nobody that eats Diablo wants mild.
Kid-friendliness: There is nothing interesting for kids here buts also not fine dinning.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes“

“I highly recommend El Mezcalito Mexican Grill! The food is authentic and served with the utmost consideration to the needs of the patrons. The staff is amazing and quite caring and efficient. I have been visiting this venue for over two years, and it has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in the locality. I wish my best for its continuing success! 🙂“
