Fish Shack Reviews
Wonderful selection of fresh fish for lunch!
The expensive and good fish was way overcooked (grilled) no excuse for this. Fried Clams were horrible, tough, had to spit them out, breading wasn't even that good. Service, not good. I was looking forward to trying this place, I won't be back.
Absolutely love this place. The food is consistently awesome and always a fresh catch. Hogfish and tripletail are standouts, and the lobster roll is hands-down the best I’ve had outside of Maine. Huge shout-out to Dani, Brandy, Jenn, Lauren, and Brianna — friendly, attentive, and they make the whole experience even better. This spot never disappoints.

Fish Shack, a beloved spot in South Florida, is known for its delicious seafood and inviting atmosphere. With quality ingredients and friendly, attentive service, customers have been enjoying their meals for over 9 years. The menu features fresh catch options like swordfish, hogfish, and grouper, all of which have received high praise for their flavor and crisp texture. While prices may be a bit high, diners feel that the quality justifies the cost. The restaurant has a cozy family diner vibe and is always bustling with locals, evident from the line of regulars waiting outside on any given night. Many reviews highlight the best fried fish in South Florida and the unbelievable blackened chicken Caesar salad. The fried shrimp and wahoo chunks are also popular among diners.
The service at Fish Shack is nothing short of awesome, with staff members like Kiki, Catherine, and Jennifer providing top-notch, attentive service without being overbearing. Customers appreciate the clean utensils and the crisp salads with flavorful dressing. Portions are generous, with some combo platters large enough to share. Diners have also mentioned the cold beer and the homemade key lime pie as must-tries.
Fish Shack thrives on its community of regulars, with many customers forming genuine relationships with the staff. This connection is what makes Fish Shack special, giving it a small-town restaurant feeling in a world of impersonal service. Visitors are encouraged to stop by for a memorable dining experience in the Lighthouse Point/Pompano Beach area, with convenient parking available in the small shopping center where the restaurant is located.
