Keywest Cuban Cafe is located at a gas station, where customers order at a window. This place serves up the best Cuban sandwich ever had, no question about it. The “Famous Cubano” features bread that is on point, buttered, crispy and chewy, with juicy and tender roast pork, good ham, a perfect amount of pickles and mustard, and melty Swiss. All textures and flavors are balanced, and you can taste the individual components. The sandwiches are big, filling, and HUGE. The Cuban coffee is rich and flavorful, and the pastries and ground beef empanadas are delicious. The owner is incredibly friendly and knows his stuff, offering samples. Prices are very reasonable, and the woman serving is very pleasant. This is a favorite stop for a Cuban fix to go, reminding some of little Cuban stands in Miami.
