Crackings | 30A | Grayton Beach is a quaint, tasty breakfast spot off the beaten path. The food is good, with outstanding coffee waffles, grits, and potatoes. The breakfast sandwich is amazing, especially when subbing out the tatos for avocado. The french toast with overwell egg and sausage, along with a fabulous mimosa, is absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly, and the service is 5 star, even treating little dogs like royalty. Outdoor music and a pet-friendly patio add to the charm. A 20-minute wait without a reservation is considered good. However, an automatic 20% gratuity for 6 or more guests is seen as bad form by some. While prices are fair for the area, a 75¢ charge for a straw, even for a charitable mission, feels excessive on top of $17 biscuits and gravy. Despite room for improvement, the lack of competition at this end of the beach makes it a favorite breakfast/brunch place to return to.
