“Buona ristorante (aka Buona pizza) advertises themselves as a classy Italian restaurant. This place is nothing more than a pizza joint. Extremely small inside with paper table cloths that they tear off from a big roll on the back wall. Ordered garlic bread and calamari for appetizer. Garlic bread was OK, calamari was so tough you could not even chew it. My mom's OSSO BUCO ALLA MILANESE (pork shank) was seasoned good, but I could tell it was cooked earlier and then heated up. The outside of the pork was warm, but the middle was stone cold. My wife and I got a Hawaiian pizza. It is thin crust and extremely soggy. Could not even pick up the pizza slice it was so soft. Had a horrible, weird tast me to it, almost like a sour tomato sauce. Barely even ate one slice and left the rest of it there. Went there for birthday dinner, and it was ruined. I guess our first red flag should have been that on a Saturday evening, it was not even busy.“

“Original south sider here. Super skeptical when it comes to restaurants outside the area stating they're Chicago style thin crust. This place checked all the boxes!! Sausage was on point, no crumpled crap or poker chip,it was real authentic Sausage chunks. The thin crust was perfect. It was so good,we got another Togo for when I'm hungry later at the hotel. We're up here on our anniversary weekend trip n this place made it totally worth it. We'll definitely be back b4 we head back to south Florida.“

“I very seldom write a review but our experience at Gigis on Treasure Island last night was exceptional. The food was excellent but even if it had not been, the service was so exceptional we would not have noticed. I called him the ghost server. Having watched the petite brunette gather in a huddle with her coworker, her conversation in front of waiting customers is rude. Especially when you can hear their negativity! Sunday is a hectic day already, getting ready for the work week and I was left feeling like I was interrupting the petite brunette gossiping about your other employees in ear shot. Customers didn’t come first yesterday and her conversation was a detriment to others in my opinion! Watch out for that one IMO.“

Outstanding! Honestly, words hardly do this place justice. From my very first visit to now countless returns, Mama Rose Pizza has never failed to impress. Their specials are legendary—especially the 99-cent cheese slices that taste like pure New York nostalgia.

The heart of this place comes from the owners, Mama Rose and Uncle Vinny. They bring so much energy and warmth that you instantly feel like part of the family. On just my second visit, Uncle Vinny remembered my name and even listened to my suggestion about offering his homemade ranch in larger bottles so I could enjoy it at home. That kind of care is rare.

The atmosphere is electric—from Yankees games on the TV to the authentic New York/New Jersey vibes in the air. And let’s talk about the food: the homemade sauce is packed with flavor, and the cook in the back reminds me of my Nana. She pours her spirit into the dough, and I swear there’s a secret ingredient—maybe a mix of sugar, spice, and sunshine—that makes it perfect every time.

The whole staff is incredible. Even during a rush, the cashiers greet you with a smile, making every visit a bright spot in my day. The place keeps evolving and renovating, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
