New to the area, visitors decided to stop in for a super late lunch around 4 pm and were greeted by the very friendly James behind the counter, who made them feel like old friends. The ribs, smoked on-site, were falling off the bone and delicious, accompanied by tasty collard greens and black-eyed peas. The oxtail stew, a first-time try, was meaty and savory, with the large portion providing leftovers for another meal. While the total bill, including two drinks, was $40, the restaurant offers the option to order smaller portions. The porch was a step back in time, with neighborhood old-timers chatting. Overall, Blue Nile provides a welcoming atmosphere and delectable Southern-style cuisine in the Fruitland Heights community.
