I’d never had Connecticut style pizza before, but it is my new favorite—every bite has sauce, cheese, or toppings on it, so there’s no risk of leaving a pile of uneaten crust on your plate. I’m so surprised to see other reviews commenting on lack of flavor, because that is what so positively stood out to me. I think it might’ve been the hot oil that created such a tangy, crave-able taste, so I’d recommend ordering that as a topping. It’s one of the cleanest restaurants I’ve ever been in, the booths are comfortable, the service is attentive, the beers are well-poured, and the pizza is (in my opinion) better than Italy. Colony Grill is a welcome break from the ultra “trendy” and Instagram-forward restaurants that cost $$$ for a decent dinner downtown. I wish I’d given this place a try sooner!“

The Italian ice was the perfect desert. My only recommendation is more sauce on the pizza, but I’ll just ask for it next time.“

“We always order 2 of the cheesy Howie Breads and 1 of the Chicken Caesar Salads there but with the Greek dressing. It fills us both up, and it is such a delicious combination. Not all of the Hungry Howie stores have the Caesar Salad, and the Howie Bread is different from store to store. But this store definitely has and makes both really well.“

“I have been there twice. The first time I had a slice of cheese pizza and it was like being back in New York City, five stars. The second slice when I returned, was apparently made by the B team, because it was not as good. The crust was too thick, and the cheese and sauce were spread unevenly. Three stars.

Love their Agua Frescas, So Buff bowl (all the bowls are good), Wild Shroom Pizza with chickpea bites, formally lentil bites; love those little guys. Also love their broccoli and Rio Burrito. “Our group of thirteen dined here today to celebrate two birthdays, seated at two tables. We spent close to $800, and I have to say — the food was exceptional and our server was outstanding. The staff provided warm and attentive service that truly stood out. Unfortunately, what should have been a joyful celebration was tainted by the behavior of the new ownership. A gentleman, who appeared to be part of the new management team (a man in his early forties), sat and later stood in different areas of the restaurant, repeatedly glancing at our group — the only African American party in the establishment — as if we were out of place. At no point did he acknowledge our tables or the two ladies whose birthdays we were celebrating. Yet, he made a point to warmly engage with non-Black patrons seated at the bar. The contrast was noticeable and deeply disappointing. In 2025, it’s disheartening that anyone still needs to be reminded that the color of money is green, and respect should not be selective. We value ourselves, our experiences, and where we choose to spend our hard-earned money. While the food was phenomenal, the lack of respect and basic acknowledgment from ownership left a lasting negative impression. We will not be returning, and I truly hope the new owner learns that real hospitality includes treating every guest with dignity and appreciation — not just those who resemble him. #Disappointed“

Would definitely order from this location again, they did a great job and had it ready at the specified time for me to pick up after work.
