“This was the first time at this restaurant in Davie, Florida as I have been to the one in Doral, Florida. My wife and I decided to stop for lunch, we sat down and Dubraska was our waitress. She took our order, which came quickly, and the food was delicious! Everything was very good, in fact, had to take some home. Dubraska was very kind and quick with our order, and I would recommend this restaurant. So the next time you come to Franciscas’, please ask for Dubraska, and she will take care of you! “I really wanted to love Bocas but I left extremely disappointed. This spot has been on my bookmarked list for three years, and I finally decided to check it out today. Sadly, it didn't live up to the hype. We started strong the passion fruit sangria was phenomenal and lived up to the reviews. We also ordered the bao octopus appetizer, which was surprisingly delicious and well-cooked. But things went downhill fast. My son ordered the ribs, and they came out still frozen. When we brought it to our waitress's attention, she casually responded, “Oh okay, we can make another one.” No real apology or urgency. My son ended up switching to a burger instead. I ordered the ribeye with rice, beans, and avocado, but the rice and beans never made it to the table. Not a huge deal in itself, but it added to the growing list of issues. The worst part? At one point, our waitress stuck her bare hands into the rice cooker to grab a bite for herself we saw her try to turn her back to hide it, but it was very obvious. That was a huge turn-off and honestly, unhygienic and unacceptable. To top it all off, the place had a lot of fruit flies and it was uncomfortably warm inside. Food-wise, it wasn't terrible. But the service was inattentive and dismissive, and that kind of experience just ruins a meal. Unfortunately, this will be my first and last visit to Bocas.“

“First time at this place; the restaurant was clean, the food was outstanding, and the waiter (Brandon) was very attentive. Then again, there were only two or three other tables seated. Awkward ambiance for the first five+/- minutes because there was no music playing and the TVs were off. Finally, the music came on and the dining experience improved ten-fold. Meanwhile, the TVs were never turned on. Not a big deal, in fact... might even be cool to have a place with no TVs, where people are forced to interact with one another. But I digress, if you choose to have televisions in your establishment, keep them on; there's a lot you can do with them, not just have it on TV programming. Anyways, this place is absolutely fantastic and has the potential to be one of the area's best restaurants. I'll definitely be back!“

“We dined at Casa Playa last night for a family get together and it was perfect! The ambience is open, contemporary and serene. Wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling glass, blonde wood furniture, bright white walls, and a colorful palm mural on one wall, is welcoming and confident. The artwork is in the food. We started with Peruvian style calamari which was crisply coated with an audible crunch. The chicken and beef Argentinian empanadas were baked pockets of lusciously seasoned meat. Other appetizers include crispy pork belly, spicy tuna tartar guacamole, and fresh ceviche. Several of us had the Ropa Vieja which our grandson delighted in telling us meant "old clothes." The flank steak was slow cooked in a well spiced tomato sauce with onions and peppers, then shredded to soak up all of the lively flavors. It was served with a mound of white rice, tasty black beans, and chunks of sweet maduros. Other dishes enjoyed by our family included shrimp, chimichurri steak, and mojo marinated pork.
The service was thoughtful and attentive and the evening was very enjoyable.
Casa Playa celebrates the culinary excellence and ingredients of Latin fusion. And they do it very well.“

“Review Anthonys Runway 84, November, 2023 Spectacular! I have had some of the finest restaurants all over the world and New York and Las Vegas. So if I say this is spectacular, it’s because it exceeds expectations in just about every facet of the experience, especially for South Florida. I had the pleasure of dining there on my birthday November 25, 2023. This restaurant has been an institution in Fort Lauderdale for decades, known for its delicious Italian food. When you walk in the walls are lined with framed photographs of celebrities, entertainers, public figures, etc. who have dined at Anthony’s Runway 84. I have eaten here many times throughout the years, but not since the beautiful renovation. There is, of course, valet parking. Thereafter, you are transported. When you walk in, you are greeted by a gentleman who greets you like family. The restaurant itself is reminiscent of a beautiful, high-end supper as in New York, London or Monaco. The design is refined and sexy. The staff is also refined and sexy, as well as the many of the polished clientele. And of course, there are normal folks like myself…-) The Food is exceptional, as it has always been. But fair warning – the portions are immense. Did they get bigger? Next time I go, I will twist my dates arm to share an entrée which this date refuse to do…-). The drinks are made fairly strong, not the watered-down version of so many South Florida restaurants, they have a full bar. My Black Russian with Tito’s, milk and easy rocks was made perfectly. The service was spot on. Our server Kasey was perfect. She was attentive without being intrusive. She catered to our every request quickly and cheerfully. She could not have been more perfect. She was a pleasure. The food was served fairly quickly after we ordered and again the portions are very large. Both my date and I had the chicken Parmesan, which was delicious and served at the perfect temperature, with the chicken both crispy and savory. We finished dinner about 8 o’clock. Just about this time, there was a large and lively sophisticated crowd at the bar. I have a feeling this restaurant really gets going after 9 PM. I know they have entertainment, but sadly we were done before the entertainment started. Oh, did not see the bill, I know that the prices are fairly high, although still a fraction of what is charged in many of the high-end restaurants in Miami, which I’ve dined at and don’t hold a candle to this restaurant. Last, but not least, the General Manager, JOE is exceptional. He is personable, stopping to talk with many of the guests here and there, he’s also a hands-on GM when we needed salt and pepper, or any little thing he was more than happy to accommodate. He not only responded personally to my email request, but responded fairly quickly. Impressive! As most of you who see my reviews know - I’m very hesitant to strongly recommend most anything. This restaurant is an exception. It is truly spectacular. Do not visit Fort Lauderdale without visiting this restaurant. It probably books months in advance, especially during season, so book early! “We visited Mima's for a quick bite. We noticed that the space was small but always noticed that the place was always packed. We went early one morning and a table was available. We sat and was greeted my the nice young lady who was serving the tables. Got our menus and was pleased to see the variety available. This is a mom and pop type of place so there will be a wait. I had the palomilla, my wife had the chicken and my mother in law had the Mima's Western. The food was absolutely amazing. Portions were big and the food had authentic Cuban flavor. The palomilla was so flavorful and tender and the potatoes were delicious. We had such a great dining experience that we are now regulars there. Definitely can't say enough about the great experiences we have had.“
