She took our order, which came quickly, and the food was delicious! Everything was very good, in fact, had to take some home. “Amazing. I highly recommend the all you can eat for $34.99! Best $35 that I’ve ever spent on food. Basically a 6 course meal, and if you want more, then you can order more! Exceeded all expectations that I had going in. I drove a hour to get here and it was well worth the drive. I will do it again. Everything was made to order and top notch! “First time at this place; the restaurant was clean, the food was outstanding, and the waiter (Brandon) was very attentive. Then again, there were only two or three other tables seated. Awkward ambiance for the first five+/- minutes because there was no music playing and the TVs were off. Finally, the music came on and the dining experience improved ten-fold. Meanwhile, the TVs were never turned on. Not a big deal, in fact... might even be cool to have a place with no TVs, where people are forced to interact with one another. But I digress, if you choose to have televisions in your establishment, keep them on; there's a lot you can do with them, not just have it on TV programming. Anyways, this place is absolutely fantastic and has the potential to be one of the area's best restaurants. I'll definitely be back!“

“This little gem is in my neighborhood and it’s been at least 16-17 years since I first walked in the door. The food is excellent, it’s a family owned and operated business, you can tell they care and they’re very real people. The mom’s demeanor when dealing with trouble customers reminds me a lot of the tattoo shops I’ve worked in, they are not a chain so they don’t have to suffer stupidity. I don’t think anything there is cooked off site, bread nor pastries. I’ve never had a less than perfect meal there. The daughter, who is only there part time now is charming, welcoming and among the most beautiful people I’ve ever laid eyes on. Oh! The prices. Not bad at all. Not dirt cheap as Cuban food goes, but definitely affordable. Places like this don’t seem to exist much outside of Little Havana, the Caribbean and Central America. This kind of restaurant/diner is part of the reason I fell in love with South Florida.“

“I discovered this café while browsing Google Maps, and I’ll admit it was a little tricky to find at first. There’s no exterior signage indicating it’s a café, so I had to call the number listed on Google to get directions. Once inside the Glades building at Sawgrass Technology Park, though, it’s worth the effort!

The interior is spacious and filled with natural light, making it a great spot if you want to work or just relax with a coffee. When I visited, it was quiet and peaceful—perfect for focus or casual conversation.

“We had a great time trying out Casa Playa on Fort Lauderdale Beach! Just a block away from the ocean, this spot is gorgeous, with outdoor seating and open-air bar seats. The Menu is Latin fusion with a lot of Peruvian influence. The Peruvian Ceviche was spot on. The Grilled Octopus was cooked perfectly. The whole fried fish was crunchy and juicy! Hard to stop eating it. One of my favorites is the Jalea, which is deep fried seafood platter.. So Good! The cocktails and wines were also very refreshing! The Pisco Playa is their take on a Pisco sour, and it was delicious as well! This is a great spot for lunch, dinner or just a couple drinks at the bar. I recommend you stop by next time you’re on Fort Lauderdale Beach. And a special thanks to Reina, Joey and Geraldo for treating us great!“

This place isn’t just my wife’s favorite Venezuelan restaurant—it’s her comfort zone. Every time we walk in, it’s like someone opened a door to her childhood. The smells, the music, the way the staff greets her like she’s family—it’s beautiful to watch. And honestly, that alone would earn this place five stars.

But here’s the part that really matters to me: I’m not Venezuelan. I’m the cringo in the corner trying to pronounce “cachapa” without sounding like I’m ordering a Pokémon. And yet, they never make me feel out of place. The staff is kind, patient, and genuinely excited to share their culture. They walk you through the menu like they’re inviting you into their home kitchen.

I’ve learned to love the food, sure—but I’ve also learned to love how this place makes people feel. Whether you grew up eating arepas or you’re just curious and hungry, they make you feel welcome. And that’s rare.

So yeah, five stars. Not just for the food, but for the feeling.“
