I traveled from South Florida to attend the Synergy Sweets 1-year Celebration and I’m leaving super inspired with my sweet tooth cravings thoroughly satisfied! I purchased a combination of her cupcakes, cheesecakes, cheesecake cakes, and cookies. Having a hard time selecting a favorite. Everything is rich, decadent, and delicious! “A return trip to discover more goodies. A bakery that does not open til 11am is uncommon and detracts from the experience. All breads seem to have very chewy crust extetiors. Some of other items are just next level genius. The ham sandwich with bourbon ham, gruyere, bordier butter, le sanctuaire piment d'espelette and cornichon is brilliant. The croissant sticky buns and twice baked croissant w/ pistachio cream, apricot marmalade, frangipane and almonds make you wonder if this is heaven.

I greatly anticipated my first visit here after reading about it. It's a small place with a wonderful variety of baked products like bread and pastries with various other tasty sundries to choose from.

First I tried the french baguette. It's has a beautiful craggly interior but has hard and chewy exterior. The Beurre Bordier butter was great but I taste tested it with the Irish butter and the Kirkland grass fed and the exhuberant price is not warranted. The Double Baked Almond Blueberry Croissant was superp. The Uncle Sergio Sandwich was very tasty but much skimpier than their photo and the bread again hard and chewy.

Expect to pay top dollar for the things they carry. Easy to spend $50+ on just a few items. You pay restaurant pricing right at the bakery.“

I tried their Salted Caramel Latte, Lavender Latte, Orange Chocolate Latte and classic Vanilla Latte - they are all very tasty. Their croissants are fresh and flaky, my personal favorite is almond, but the chocolate praline is to die for. This place is pricey, but it is located on Kennedy Blvd., so I am sure the rent is insane. I look forward to trying more of Chef Brenda's pastries and cakes in the near future.“

That little cup of salsa they include. Zesty, spicy, and layered. Dipping the empanada in it somehow made everything more alive. Like it unlocked a bonus level of flavor.

“This is, hands down, the best sourdough bread I have ever had. I have been a customer of Sassypants Sourdough for a couple of years now. Every single special occasion with friends or family, I put in a big order.

Every single thing I have gotten has been incredibly delicious. I am a huge fan of English Muffins and get at least a dozen with every order. They freeze for single use beautifully, as do all the loaf breads.

If you have never had sourdough brownies, your life will be changed for the better.

The Rye breads - insanely good. Way up on the fave list. Right up there with the specialty loaves. You haven't lived until you have had a big bowl of spaghetti with the Roasted Garlic, Rosemary & Olive Oil Sourdough loaf.

I was even fortunate enough to receive a centerpiece loaf for Christmas last year, which was all the rage with the family. My family also regularly makes Eggs in the Basket with the plain sandwich loaves. Chef's kiss.

And, to top it all off, the owner is an incredible human and has a true gift. I will be joining the next 101 class, and cannot wait. Shelby is such an absolute delight to be around.

I would give Sassypants Sourdough 100 stars if I could. I am, and will be, a client as long as they are slinging out loaves.

“I finally made it to The Chef & The Baker on S. Manhattan Avenue after one of my best friends raved about their croix donuts for months ~ and wow, it did not disappoint! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warmest front desk representative, Lisa, and had the pleasure of meeting Chef Rosana. Both were incredibly kind, welcoming, and made the experience feel special. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. My Café con Leche was perfectly balanced and delicious, and the iced vanilla latte was just as good. We tried the homemade Cinnabon buns, a plain sugary croix donut, and the Nutella croix donut ~ each one unbelievably fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. We also grabbed a baguette to go and ended up trying it in the car on the way home… it was delish! You can taste that everything is genuinely homemade. The café itself is adorable ~ cozy and inviting. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying more from their menu. This little hidden gem definitely lived up to the hype!
