“The sushi is great. Service is just OK. Not very friendly and painfully slow. We made the mistake of coming here hungry and it took over 40 minutes to get our order of 3 rolls. We were one of only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant.

Also, it was frigid in the restaurant. All the employees have sweatshirts on and when we asked if they could turn off the fan, we were told they are connected to the lights so it wasn’t possible. The table next to us decided to take their order to go because of the temperature in the restaurant.

Updated to add: Ashly did an incredible job of connecting with me to explain the combination of circumstances that led to the experience we had at the restaurant that day. The customer experience from that interaction was excellent. She was not defensive and made me feel like a valued customer. For that, I updated my service rating from 2 stars to 4 and overall rating from 2 stars to 4. Of course the excellent service after the fact is impactful but it doesn’t erase the initial experience entirely.“

She was pretty miserable and I noticed the busers were doing pretty much all of her work. She just took our order. Busers brought menus, silverware, drinks and even did our refills. One of the other servers on the floor brought us our food. We chalked it up to she was having a bad day and even though I wanted to tip the busers, we did tip Pam! Today we got her again and from what we could tell, nothing had changed! Our opinion, if you don't enjoy working with the public, hit the road before you start causing Ellies to lose customers. We will try again, but if we see her coming to us, we will ask for a different server. No one deserves to be treated rudely!!!! If you like curry, which i do not care for curry - but this was exceptional. The name is Ka-Mu-Panang. I also had a new dessert - made of coconut, bananas. and mango. Because it was a new item it hasn't been named yet - so we called it CoBango, the owners were also naming it different things and still no name when we left. We ordered: Goyza (yum!), tuna and spicy tuna sushi (seemed fresh), Terriaki salmon (delicious), and BBQ short ribs (practically licked the plate clean lol). “We are SOOOOO glad we stopped here for lunch/dinner today. Despite the place being packed, we were sat quickly and our server came to take our drink order promptly. Being our first time, we asked her for some menu suggestions and she could not have given us better recommendations. He had the tropical fish flatbread and I had the island fire shrimp tacos. Both dishes had incredible flavor and the portions were HUGE. The prices were incredibly reasonable, as well.
