About Côte France

Côte France is a fabulous and outstanding French restaurant in downtown Venice, considered a lovely hidden gem. The food is very high quality, delicious, and excellently prepared. The menu is limited but varied, offering a unique and outstanding experience in the evening with dishes such as duck confit, snapper with beurre blanc sauce, boeuf bourguignon, triple tail special with scallops, perfectly prepared scallops over risotto, swordfish with chimichurri, and french onion soup. Appetizers include escargot, foie gras, onion soup, and pea soup with bacon, all with notable depth of flavor. Desserts like profiteroles with chocolate and almonds do not disappoint. Portions are generous but not ridiculous, and everything is well presented.

The restaurant has two different aspects: before 2:30 PM it is a breakfast and brunch cafe serving quiche and crepes, while after 5:00 PM it is the full French restaurant. The service is attentive but not overbearing, friendly, nice, and accommodating. The ambiance is pleasant with a very appropriate sound level for both background music and conversation. The wine list is short but has something for everyone, with prices that are reasonably priced and quite reasonable, offering excellent value for an upscale experience. The totality of the experience—ambiance, food, service, and wine—is well worth it, making it a highly recommended place for a wonderful meal.
