“My husband and I ate lunch at the brand new Panera bread. It was our first time going there since it was built from the ground up near the Indian River Mall In Vero Beach, Florida on 20th st (rt 60) 32966.
First of all, the place was so clean & immaculate and so highly organized that was the first thing I noticed so I commend you on that. Whoever the manager is, she deserves a very big raise because she is excellent at what she does. I believe I saw who she was because she looked like she was the manager by the way she was talking to the other employees. . They had a much better selection of baked goods than the little Panera bread that’s on Indian River Blvd. in Vero Beach, Florida.
That being said, I was disappointed in the homestyle chicken noodle soup because it seems the recipe has changed. Before I retired. I worked at a doctor’s office near the little Panera bread on Indian River Blvd. and I used to go there for lunch and have chicken soup and a baguette a lot. I loved it. But today the chicken soup has more of a beef bone broth flavor. I didn’t care for the broth. The chicken itself in the soup was fresh. I did have a half of a chicken salad with cranberries and walnut sandwich. The bread was fresh. The chicken salad was excellent and fresh, but I have to say there were no red cranberries in the chicken salad as advertised. That was very disappointing. I grew up in Massachusetts. Where ocean spray started. We had tons of cranberry bogs in Wareham mass. Cranberries are red and the only thing I saw were purple or what look like maybe navy blue cranberries. That is not the color of a cranberry. And I didn’t taste the tartness of the cranberry either so they need to make sure they get fresh red cranberries with tartness if they are gonna advertise it as such. And I researched online and found out that they did change their recipe for chicken noodle soup and all your soups because of a “clean initiative “. You wanted to do away with additives and preservatives, which is fine. However, it changed the whole taste, flavor and texture of the chicken broth. And not to the betterment of the soup I’m all for getting rid of additives and preservatives, but not at the expense of the taste of the soup. They need to try and rework the recipe to get back the “flavor” of the original recipe.I did call Panera customer service and put in my feelings regarding this subject.“
“First time eating here. Went for lunch. Food was very good and the service was extremely fast. I like that! Atmosphere was ok, its Panera, its what you would expect, for lunch or fast pick up. Very clean and neat. Nice place, I'll go back there, I recommend if your looking for good food and fast service, this is your place, a little pricey but you're paying for quality. 👍🤗“
