“Decided to drive here after visiting Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive this past Saturday. We were in the mood for locally owned bbq. Found this place in Monteverde, and I'm glad we drove 30 minutes to eat lunch here. The owner and his family are very nice and the bbq is good. We did the family meal for 4 and ordered another large side to go with it. The order was for pulled pork sandwiches, mac and cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. My wife and I are picky about coleslaw; even more so the kids. It was sweet and was slightly different from what I would describe as a typical coleslaw. But whatever it is that sets it apart from other ones, it works because it was really good. The kids really liked it. We did try some of their ribs as well. Our 8 year old daughter was impressed and wanted to let them know how good the ribs were. If you get a chance, stop by there for lunch and see why they have such good reviews.“

“First thing I wanted when I arrived in Fl was a Good Ole Burger!! Oakwood did not disappoint. My burger was excellent and i got bacon crumbles with it, the fries were delish! and Ashley was great! The menu is not extensive but it covers all the bases and has something for everyone. Thanks for a great first meal!!“

There is a difference and it's the General Manager and Catering Guru Eric Eyerly! You will have to drive 20 mins. further BUT you will be seated immediately and they do not run out of ribs etc. Their servers are kind and efficient and the food is outstanding. CATERING for 10 or 200?? Having worked with Eric for 10 years you will not have better food at a better price, or happier diners. They go way above and beyond to deliver a great experience.
