“This is exactly what you want from a BBQ truck. It's only open Saturday from 12-5 but is absolutely worth planning around. All the meat choices were well done. The ribs, pulled pork and brisket were all very good. I am from KC so it doesn't quite match a place like Joe's, but it really close. The brisket is a bit fatty, but that adds to the flavor.Prices are fair, so for BBQ, it is value for quality. It was busy and the grass area parking off of Avalon is a little limited, but manageable. It's informal and easy to navigate.They have 4 different sauces and they are all great. It was a great experience, food was great, expect a little wait...it's popular for a reason.Edit: I failed to give them credit for serving their meats "dry" as all good BBQ should be. If you have to cover the taste with sauce, there's something wrong. With that being noted, their sauces are ridiculously great. I expected them to coast on the sauces given the size and nature of the operation, but I was dead wrong. I wouldn't waste covering their very good BBQ with sauce, but sauces are essential to enjoying your fries and sides. All four choices were simply outstanding. These are as good as you'll find in KC, Memphis, St Louis or the Texas places that are known in the BBQ world. I am not over stating this, they are great.“
“Great meat. Smokey with a nice crispy bark on the brisket. The KC sauce was great with brisket and the Carolina Gold works well with the pork. Settlers Beans were the best beans I've ever had. Pieces of bbq meat in with the beans! Coating on the green tomatoes was a bit underwhelming and not too crispy. Greens were smokey and savory. Mac and cheese very creamy. The nachos were solid. Going to visit again just for the beans! Cornbread muffins are a nice touch. Great, friendly staff with awesome t-shirts.“
“Cianna was a wonderful bartender. To be honest, this was a highly equipped bar for a vacation destination. They were out of cocoa butters and the bartender quickly recommended a replacement and an additional suggestion. We appreciate the tequila and bourbon variety!“
“We recently ate here with a party of 6. The food is delicious and high quality compared to other grill-your-own-meat places (you pay for the premium) and that alone can carry the restaurant.I have to mention one issue during our visit. We were a larger group and it seemed that larger parties were somewhat deprioritized. While the staff was friendly, it took a bit longer for our orders to be taken, and we noticed that smaller tables around us received their cooking food before us. Either plan accordingly or make sure the staff get you your food items in a timely manner. We had already pretty much eaten all of the sides that accompanied the meat by the time the meat arrived and we were not particularly pleased at how long we ended up at the restaurant and were so hungry we forgot to take pictures of the main courses.While I may pick other places to host larger parties from now on, I would still highly recommend Gyu-Kaku for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. They are still an oasis in our dining desert. Just be aware that if you're in a larger group, you might experience a bit of a wait.“
“We have been dining & ordering to go since the Winter Garden location opened. The food is consistently very tasty. The service is friendly and reliable. Best of all 4R seems to be one of only a few restaurants that doesn’t leave items out of a to go order!Parking: I’ve never had any trouble finding parking—plenty of open spaces.“
“We love going to Longhorns. I don’t usually eat steak here because I cook a great steak at home but we love the Wild West shrimp and the chicken tenders with the honey mustard dipping sauce. I think they have one of the best honey mustard sauce around. My last visit someone in my party ordered the sirloin steak and it was cooked to medium rare as requested, but there were something funny like a sour taste towards the center of the meat. The staff was wonderful in the situation and removed the dish from our check and gave us a free appetizer for our next visit. This will not stop up from returning. We understand that sometimes craze stuff happens.“
