JD's Bar-B-Que offers a nice and quaint atmosphere with excellent and prompt service. Once an old school building, this restaurant is now a piece of history that serves some of the best BBQ around. The Brisket plate was good and super juicy, but could have used a little more seasoning, while the wings had the best flavor ever. The Mac and cheese skillet with chicken was delicious, though the Mac and cheese was not hot and the fried green tomatoes were too salty. The ribs and brisket were decent, and the hush puppies lacked flavor. The BBQ chicken's smoking process was unclear, and the peach cobbler was bland, with banana pudding being unavailable. The restaurant has a loud dining room and outdoor seating available, and while service can be slow, possibly due to being busy or understaffed, it is still considered worth the wait. Customers appreciate the classic sides, with one noting the best coleslaw ever, and find the staff friendly. The restaurant is very clean and smells wonderful, making it a good place for groups with immediate seating. JD's also sells souvenir t-shirts.
