“I've lived in Miami and Key West, suffice it to say, I know good Cuban food. This place is legit. As good a Cuban sandwich as any i've ever had. Oxtails, Cuban chicken stew, black beans, plaintains, sweet and fried, literally everything I've tried has been perfect and portions are large and very fairly priced. Love this place!!”

“Gladys’ Kitchen is a staple in the community, synonymous with Southern hospitality and comfort food—and they did not miss! From the moment we walked in, it felt like visiting your favorite aunt’s house on a Sunday after church. The food was hot and fresh, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Everything was well-seasoned, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The dressing was a tad dry but still flavorful. The collard greens may have been cooked with pork, which I don’t eat, so I didn’t have them—but I did taste them. They were finely cut, well-seasoned, and definitely not from a can. As I was leaving, I was asked about my experience, and I later realized I was speaking with Ms. Gladys herself. She was sitting in the lobby, observing and ensuring that everyone had a great dining experience. I highly recommend this place for both the food and the hospitality. This feels like “down home” ♥️”

“For my seventieth birthday I came down from North Carolina to Georgia to spend it with my family. My nephew lives in Americus and The Fish House was one of his suggestions. We went there. Eighteen in our party! The staff were great. The food was awesome. It is a fish house but they serve other foods. I went with the Texas BLT and I was not disappointed. I thank you so much for the experience.”

“Well, I’m from Philadelphia and you can’t get a “real “Philly cheesesteak 20 minutes outside of the city ! Who in the world would’ve figured a town like Americus, GA would get it right of all places ?!?! Wow ! That’s the best thing going here ! However you found the trick you got it 💯 right !”

“Sweet Georgia Baking is my all-time favorite restaurant. Period. I went to college in Americus, and currently live outside of Atlanta, and I have never found anything or anywhere that compares to Sweet Georgia. When I come visit Americus a few times a year, I ALWAYS make sure to not only stop at Sweet Georgia, but stock up on meals for the entire weekend. And also always take a pound of chicken salad back home. I am especially a fan of the hot turkey sandwich, the cous cous salad any time of year, and of course the chicken salad.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I would eat here everyday if I still lived in Americus, and I make sure to eat there, or the food I bought the day before if it's sunday, every time I come to town. It's a huge reason I am willing to make the 3 hour drive!”

“Quick visit to Americus and had a craving for Chinese
Tried Ming Harden on a Sunday afternoon and wasn’t disappointed - mainly because I don’t have really high expectations for a plaza takeout place.
I ordered pan fried dumplings that I found tender and delicious. The soy based dipping sauce was great too. Next up was General Tso which was also very good and came with white rice. The food was plentiful and price was right.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Still One of My All-Time Favorites, Even After 10+ Years

I’ve been going to Hibachi Express in Americus, Georgia on and off for over 10 years, and even though I live in Atlanta now, it’s still in my top five. That should tell you something!

The food has always been consistently flavorful—whether I’m getting the chicken, steak, or shrimp combo, it’s cooked just right every time. The fried rice hits, the veggies are always sautéed perfectly, and that signature white sauce? Still addictive.

I did notice that the portions are a little smaller than they used to be back in the day, but the quality has never slipped. And honestly, the flavor makes up for it. You can tell they still put care into each plate.

Every time I’m in Americus, Georgia, I make a point to stop by. It’s one of those hometown spots that just never lost its charm, and I’ve yet to find a hibachi spot in Atlanta that gives me that same satisfaction.

“The cashier is always smiling and very friendly as well as helpful. She makes you want to come back every time you come to Americus. My father-in-law loves ice cream, so what better place to bring him than to see her. Plus, I can get him to eat food, too. Even if it is a kids' meal chicken strip with ice cream.
