“I went there to see and hear Perry D'Andrea sing Sinatra, and enjoyed the other attendees as well. Bartender got creative; loved the concoction she dreamed up for me. The place has barstools and booths, intimate lighting, and a separate area for folks to play pool, all of which allow a good view of the stage. There are special engagements on a wall calendar, and the regular show is on the last Thursday of every month. Y'all come by and set a spell, you never know who you might meet there on any given evening. You might meet a stranger, and leave with yet another friend on your contact list, haha!“

“Service could have been better considering how well I tipped but my 4⭐️Is because they should have prices for drinks viewable to the customers. Other then that nice place good atmosphere, i watched the band “Cuddling” play in the theater which was awesome!! The band definitely rocked!! Good vibes!! I’ll definitely be back!

Parking: You would be very lucky to get a spot in front of the bar but there is parking across the street but kind of small.“

“We ate at the Trappeze Pub on a Monday evening. We didn't have to wait to be seated and they were accommodating towards our seating preference. Our server, Alivia, was warm, polite, and attentive. She quickly brought us some refreshing water and took our drink order. I got the sweet tea and my husband ordered a non-alcoholic mojito. The tea was very good and my husband seemed to enjoy his drink too. For dinner, we ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich, a Sesame Ramen salad, and the Belgian fries. It was very fresh, flavorful, and quick to arrive. Their house made ranch is fantastic, and the garlic aioli was pretty tasty too. We'd happily recommend either to anyone. Before leaving, we got a piece of their carrot cake which was more than enough for us both. Their servings were generous and when the check came, we were surprised at how great of a value we got for the portions. We look forward to visiting again soon. Thanks, Trappeze Pub!“

General's Athens Bar • $$
164 East Clayton Street, Athens

“Been going to this bar for a while, only problem I've ever had is not being able to get an old fashion here because they don't have bitters. People say it's racist, redneck, or a bunch of "aggressive idiots" are clearly the kind of people to judge without spending some actual time there. Give it a chance, talk to the staff and people who go there, hangout and listen to country for a bit. I can promise you this, while there may be little things, you won't be entirely disappointed.“

Wonderbar Athens Bar • $
240 E Washington St, Athens

“Alright Athens peeps, listen up! You know I love a good dive bar, but sometimes you want something a little different, a place with a pulse. That's where Wonderbar comes in. This spot isn't your standard Athens watering hole. Sure, it's got the classic college bar vibes – exposed brick, chill atmosphere – but Wonderbar throws in a unique twist: games! We're talking a whole room full of arcade classics, mario kart, and even some board games for those retro feels. It's the perfect place to unwind after a long week, grab a drink with friends, and unleash your inner champion.

Speaking of drinks, Wonderbar's got a solid selection. Their cocktails are creative and well-made (shoutout to the "Pink Starburst" made by Morgan or Peyton!), and the beer selection is on point, with local brews alongside national favorites. Now, the food is where things get interesting. It's not fancy, but it hits the spot after a few rounds of Pac-Man. The random drinks you get from your friends are surprisingly good, and their classic bar snack are perfect for soaking up the booze. Don't sleep on the cold bar options either – the food is like a hidden gem!

Heads up, though – Wonderbar can get busy on weekends, especially with students. Parking can also be a bit of a challenge, so consider the deck or carpooling if you're coming with a group.

Overall, Wonderbar is a total win for a fun night out. It's got something for everyone – great drinks, classic games, and a lively atmosphere. Whether you're a local legend or just visiting Athens, this spot is worth checking out. Just be prepared to unleash your competitive spirit and maybe brush up on your Donkey Kong and Mario Kart skills!“

“YOUR OTHER FAVORITE SANDWICH SHOP SUCKS!

Cheba Hut is hands down the best sandwich spot around! The subs are insanely good – fresh ingredients, huge portions, and every bite is packed with flavor. The menu has awesome options for everyone, with creative names and unique flavor combos that you won’t find anywhere else. My go-to is the Bomb meatball sub, add jalapenos with a side of marinara sauce to dunk it in ? The vibe inside is super chill and relaxed, and the staff (aka "Homies") really make you feel welcomed. Plus, the munchies on the side are addictive! If you're looking for a laid-back spot with seriously delicious, out-of-this-world sandwiches, Cheba Hut is it. Don’t sleep on this place!

Vegetarian options: Cheba Hut is a sandwich lover’s paradise, and they go above and beyond for vegetarians ? Their menu includes an awesome range of veggie options, with creative subs like the Magic Mushroom and Power Plant that are loaded with fresh veggies, flavorful sauces, and melty cheese.“

“No food, no bottle service, no frills, nothing pretentious. Bourbon Street isn’t trying to be anything but what it is.... and what it is it does very well. Right on the edge of the UGA campus, it’s Divey, loud, crowded, with great music, dancing, beer specials, beer pong, always showing sports... I’ve been to Bourbon Street many times, since it opened nearly 20 years ago. The times have changed, and I’ve grown older and my tastes have changed as well. But this UGA bar has pretty much stayed the same. Guess when you have a good formula, you stick with it...“

“When I first started going it was great every time. Since this year I think they got a new DJ and he to pauses the music at the beat drop and is terrible at mixing the music. It kills the energy and is hard to dance to. He cannot read the room, and I don’t have as much fun :(Lastly, out of nowhere they started charging a cover fee and didn’t let me and my friend know until AFTER we waited in line and got to the front And we had to get cash and wait in line again.I liked the cool 90s vibe they had, with a group of and now it’s completely gone.“
