Always have a good time when we come hang out here.
Stopped in on an early Saturday evening and sat at the bar. We were promptly greeted, offered drinks right away, got just the right amount of attention from the staff. We made one off-menu request, but the bar staff and kitchen handled it better than we could have expected. We don't get down there very often, but we have always had a good experience.
This place has an amazing selection of whiskies and bourbons. If you're lucky Maddy will be there, she's the cool bartender.

Customers appreciate the fair prices and the mixed crowd of locals and students. The spacious interior is perfect for grabbing a drink and socializing, and the biweekly silent disco adds a fun twist to the experience. While service at the bar can be slow when busy, the overall vibe is welcoming and enjoyable. The Root is truly a hidden gem in Five Points, ideal for anyone looking for a great time.
