El Azteca Mexican Restaurant - Athens

Took me two years to visit this restaurante because it had mediocre reviews. Glad I finally did. It's under new management. They use fresh squeezed lime juice and agave syrup for most margaritas, always a good sign. Cheese dip is not the average watery sauce ubiquitous in Georgia. Fair selection of vegetarian items. Bris is the BEST waiter. She is very attentive and master at her craft. She can make a mixed drink to revive the soul!! Definitely a great place to go if u want to sit down and really connect with friends. The manager molly is so nice and ready to fix any problem. The place has great food and immaculate peaceful energy. The tortilla soup is to die for!! Would def eat here again!

i ordered the chicken tortilla soup, and it smelled horrendous, like mold or rotten meat, it was foul. I let multiple people smell it and it every agreed something was way off, it stunk up my entire lobby with this foul moldy cheese like smell. On a positive note I have had several other items from here and they have all been fantastic hence the 4 stars.
