One my favorite restaurants. My son did his solo flight in front of the Downwind while we sat on the balcony and watched. So many wonderful memories here!
Great staff & food. Love the airport setting. The staff was friendly & helpful especially our server Ashley. Much to choose from on extensive menu.
We had lunch while watching planes/jets taking off and landing! The food was great especially the French fries. The building it was located in had a nostalgic vibe to it. On the way to the bathroom I looked out of a window only for it to look into a hangar with 5 or 6 prop planes. That was really cool!

The menu features delicious and fresh options like the turkey club, grilled cheese sandwich, and a delicious cheeseburger. Sides include crispy French fries and tasty potato salad. The atmosphere is low-key with a quirky decor in an interesting, clean, and well-kept restaurant. It is a great spot for a casual meal or a fun night out, especially for families who find this place very welcoming. Kids can watch planes take off and land while waiting. There is also a playground nearby that can be walked to after the meal. Despite being a bit hard to find, Downwind Restaurant and Lounge is a great local hideaway with amazing food at reasonable prices.
