About Duke's Hideaway at McCray's

Duke's Hideaway at McCray's is a restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and a good vibe. Located in a nice spot high above a busy street, it offers outdoor seating and a bar area with views, although some seating arrangements may not be ideal for enjoying the scenery or people-watching. The venue features a lively outdoor scene with a DJ playing 90s R&B and afrobeats, creating a fun setting, especially in the evenings.

The food menu includes popular items like wings and nachos, which are generally enjoyed, although some reviews mention that the nachos could be better layered. The drinks are known to be strong and sweet, with some guests noting that they are served in plastic cups and can be overly sugary. Having been a fan of Tiki Tango, I was very hopeful its successor Duke's Hideaway would be able to capture at least some of the magic lost by Tiki Tango's closure. I finally had the opportunity to drop in on a Wednesday night, but was very disappointed by the experience. I watched the bartender just pour the ingredients into the mugs and hand them to us without so much...read full review

I came at the soft opening and was really hopeful since the drinks were OK and the vibe was nice, if hot. However if you're looking for an actual tiki bar, this is not it. I was excited to take friends a year after, only to go and have really bad early 2000's pop (not even good pop) blasting so loud I couldn't hear folks right by me, they don't do drinks in the actual tiki mugs anymore and the bartenders don't know how to make super basic tiki drinks like 3 dots and a dash. I had seen your ads on ig and when I had friends coming from out of town I said this spot looks perfect. I sent my friends your Ig and said we will go get cute drinks. When we visited on Friday around 5pm we were told that you all don't serve the tiki cups on the weekends. This post you posted said "weekend vibes" and then person is holding a tiki cup drink. Is this false advertising or did your bartenders just not want to serve us drinks in tiki cups?
