About Grannys Southern Kitchen

Grannys Southern Kitchen is a small, homey, and clean spot that serves soul food and comfort food. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. on Sundays. The food is fresh, hot, and delicious. Guests feel like they are in their Big Mamas kitchen.

Menu items include the vegetarian plate with a choice between four sides. The collard greens had meat, but the mac n cheese, candy yams, and broccoli mac & cheese rice casserole were good choices. Other items include beef tips, fried wings, rib tips, black eyed peas, meatloaf, and fried chicken. The beef tips were tender and flavorful, and the gravy was a little thinner than preferred but the flavor was still there. The fried wings were good. The rib tips, collard greens, and black eyed peas were all very good. The meatloaf was impressive. The fried chicken is the best in quite some time. The sides are legit and all fresh and hot. Pepper sauce is on the counter. Anything fried will take about 10 minutes to prepare.

For dessert, the strawberry cake is one of the best, with icing that is not thick or overly sweet and has a velvety, juicy consistency. The red velvet cake was excellent, and the banana pudding was impressive. A couple slices of homemade cake are available.

Service was great and everyone was friendly. Thursday afternoon around 2pm the place was packed with about a 15 minute wait in line to order. It might have just been a large family at that particular time. Guests will absolutely be back and will definitely be coming back soon. It is a new go to comfort food place.

The food and service are fantastic. Will definitely go back! It is great home cooking. The sides are fantastic!
Went to Granny’s Southern Kitchen on a whim after church. We were hungry and lucky to find them open so early on a Sunday. They open at 11 a.m.!

Everything on the line looked delicious, and all of the menu items were available, so it was honestly hard to choose. We ended up going with the beef tips and fried wings, and the food did not disappoint.
