Great atmosphere and beautiful building. Awesome service. Great place to go for drinks. Unfortunately all of that is somewhat ruined but the food which is below par. It tastes like if a cook guessed what Mexican food should taste like but has never eaten any. It has all the ingredients but no flavor. It looks pretty and interesting but tastes like well rice, beans, lettuce, and sour cream. Desperately needs better seasoning and/or sauces(salsa).
I ordered the birria and carne asada tacos with rice, refried beans, and salad. I think food-wise, it lacked flavor for me compared to other places I have visited. The lamb in the birria tasted very gamey for my liking. The steak in the carne asada tacos was a little bit better. I am used to flour tortillas for tacos but this establishment use corn tortillas and that was okay. I’ve been going here for years and it’s always delicious! They have a menu with specials that change so it’s always fun to try new things. I highly recommend the empanadas, guacamole, and charro beans with your meal. The margaritas are perfect, strong without being too sweet. The whole place is incredibly clean. They have a patio as well which is fun during nice weather. It’s family friendly but would be a great date night as well.
