The General Muir Reviews
This place is out of this world fantastic. The pastrami is near perfect. We dined for brunch and tried piled high pastrami, the general breakfast with schmaltz potatoes, deviled eggs, and pastrami and grits. We also had coffee and egg cream. We finished off brunch with a round of desert: cheesecake, coffee cake, and chocolate cake. Everything was so good from the service, to the atmosphere, to the food and I can’t wait to go back here.

The General Muir is a distinctive Jewish-rooted delicatessen and bakery that offers delicious dishes. Their menu features items like the perfect mini challah rolls, pastrami, Reuben, poutine, matzoh ball soup, and homemade potato salad. Visitors can enjoy a great full coffee bar and a prime location, making it a popular spot. The restaurant also has a cozy patio where guests can enjoy meals like the Reuben sandwich with cucumber salad. The cheesecake is particularly praised for its smooth texture and incredible flavor, often leaving diners speechless. The staff is friendly and helpful, with some customers experiencing extra kindness, such as being gifted bagels when payment issues arise. The burger is highly recommended, with a special mention of the cardamom brioche bun as a delightful dessert. Overall, The General Muir provides a high-quality dining experience, whether for lunch or dinner, with attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere.
