“My husband and I drive a truck for a living so we saw the road sign for B and J’s. We were able to go and eat here and the shrimp was fresh and the portions were generous and service was great!!! If we are ever back in the area we will for sure be back!!!“

“So I eat at the Waffle House in Darien about once a month. It's always a pleasant experience and the food is exactly what I'm there for. I mean, it's Waffle House. Consistent and what you always expect. However, this week, I feel like I had the best service that I've ever had in any Waffle House. My server was super pleasant, very attentive, actually cooked my order and checked in on me several times during my meal making sure that I had everything that I needed. I'm not saying that I've had inferior service in the past, but this server was just Johnny on the spot. All of this said, if Waffle House management reads this review, my server's name was Alana and she's a keeper.“

“WOW just WOW. Chef Jerome and the Old School Diner is FANTASTIC. The first picture with Maxine (The Macaw) is 7 years ago and the other two were taken today. We moved away several years ago and so glad to be back in this area. The food (We had the Wheelchair Platter for 3) was amazing. Trust the (MY) Chef and he will take care of you. It is an old school atmosphere filled with family love and more great food than you can eat. You will eat until you are stuffed and still take multiple to go boxes home. Chef Jerome, we cannot THANK YOU and Maxine enough. You are the best host and as you said several times today, you are truly family and we came in for dinner and left with an experience that we will never forget. We can't wait to visit again. “Great local joint for food and drinks (and entertainment!). Not sure if they do it often but there were two guys playing music (and doing a great job at it!) as we ate. Great food after a day on the water, and a cool local place to hang out. Bang Bang shrimp, hushpuppies, fries, and blackened grouper all spot on. Well worth the time and effort to get here.“
