“Food was exquisite, well seasoned, and visually appealing. We ordered something spicy, forgot what it was, but it hit the spot as far as taste was concerned. The coffee was everything I would expect from an Ethiopian restaurant. Went for my birthday and was a pleasant surprise. Hardly any patrons were present. There was a homeless man who kept trying to enter, the waitress eventually gave him a plate. That speaks to character. It took a little while to pay and leave as it was only one waitress.“

“This place is one of my favorites on the East Coast! We travel through Atlanta with our dog and often can't leave him in the car due to the heat. Eating at Bahel Ethiopian Restaurant is perfect for him. Luckily for us, the food is delicious and has been the last three times we've eaten here. No nonsense, delicious fare. I dream about the Kitfo from here. Everything we've had has been delicious. The staff is kind and competent. Highly recommended!“

“Excellent food and really nice, friendly, and attentive staff. The place has regular tables and booths, bit also traditional Ethiopian small tables for those who like to share their food. Several big screen TVs add a relaxed atmosphere. The only suggestion I’d have is to expand the wine and other drinks selection, adding wines such as Sheeba’s Tej hiney wine that would add the traditional dining experience.“

“What a great experience at Biruk Kana! The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is amazing! The owner is kind and engaging. We ordered the veggie combo. Leave plenty of time to sample this super varied and flavorful dish which was generously portioned, easily feeding two. Owner Biruk made sure we were OK and was happy to share information about her food and culture with us. There's even an Ethiopian coffee ceremony room. We've got to return and try the coffee! “Met 5 friends here for lunch on Monday based on recommendation of one couple. We were all so pleased. The owner was gracious and informative, offering suggestions to those of us unfamiliar with the cuisine.
We shared dishes of Vegetable Combos, Awaze Tibs and another less spicy meat dish. We scraped our plates clean. We have converted some wary friends to this style of eating.

“I needed a last-minute cake, something special, and most bakeries close early. So I headed over to the Queen of Sheba, which google maps promised would have cakes until 8. But they didn't have the flavor requested! Disaster. A customer said tiramisu was a house specialty, and the young lady behind the counter agreed that it was her favorite. Even though tiramisu is a gamble with a new crowd, I went for it. It was one of the most delicious, perfect cakes I've ever had. That any of us had ever had. It's what all other tiramisu wishes it could be. Good price, too. I 100% will get my next cake there.“

Overall, we had a positive experience.

Parking is shared with other businesses in the plaza, but there are plenty of spaces available, including room for larger vehicles and tractor trailers.

When we first arrived, one of the employees seemed a bit intense. He encouraged us to take our time looking over the menu, but remained nearby while we reviewed our options. My friend also felt somewhat rushed while placing an order. As the visit continued, the atmosphere became more relaxed and the service felt more comfortable.

The portions were extremely generous. We ordered the goat with chapati, which reminded us of roti, and two people were able to share it and leave satisfied. We also shared the king fish with rice, which was very good and still provided leftovers. Another member of our group ordered the tibis with spaghetti, and that portion was large enough to take some home as well. Although the menu described the tibis as spicy, we found it to be fairly mild.

The food was flavorful, the portion sizes offered excellent value, and there was plenty of seating available. While the service could have been warmer at the beginning of our visit, the quality of the food and the generous portions made for an enjoyable dining experience overall.“

My plate (built for 2) consisted of tibs, misir, and my absolute fave from Prima - gomen be siga (I'll drive for gomen be siga and Prima never disappoints)

Prices are very good for a plate for 2 (or a meal the next day cuz I didn't hafta share ).

Evening meal all'aperto with red wine was delightful; the owners are VERY hospitable.

“Just went here for the first time while visiting Atlanta. The food was delicious and very fairly priced for the high quality - my family and I loved the veggie combo. Service was absolutely top-notch. So welcoming and generous. Having lived in Ethiopia, we know authentic food and this was it. The injera was excellent. Ignore the rough parking lot and the hole-in-the-wall appearance: I’d definitely recommend this place.“

“Delicious. I got the veggie plate, which was 11.95 for 4 side veggies and a piece of corn (pancake?). The cabbage, green beans and collared greens were cooked well and flavorful. All different textures to compliment the veggies. The mac and cheese was baked and comforting.

Tough for me was that everything was boxed in Styrofoam, including their drinks. They helped refill my water bottle, but only if they handed me a Styrofoam cup. Technically, these are better choices than the polypropylene black boxes other vendors are using since neither can be recycled.“
