“I decided to give this place a second try since this is a local favorite. My first experience was good but didn’t feel the price point was good enough for what you were getting and my elotes was super soggy which was disappointing. This time I tried the birria tacos. I’ve never had birria before as I usually order street tacos but man, I’m glad I did. The meat was very flavorful and there was a lot of cheese holding everything together. I honestly could go back now and eat some more! It’s $12 for 3. I really like that it comes with the dipping sauce and the onions on top give an added flavor and crunch to them. Of course, they have the condiment bar. I chose the guacamole, spicy red sauce, and lime to pair with my birria. It was all so good! I tried the agua Fresca but it was a little too sweet for me. All good though. I’m glad I gave them a second chance! I’ll definitely go back for more birria ?“
“I go here frequently. It’s my favorite restaurant in town. The food is always great. I usually get Tex Mex Al pastor tacos (I add grilled veggies and onions and a cup of red salsa for that extra flavor) or I get the same deal but nacho fries instead of tacos. There have been a few mess ups, but it’s always fixed and with how delicious it is I just can’t help but come back. Shoot, even the mess ups taste good. I wish I could hire you guys as my personal chefs.“
“Our waitress Monica was knowledgeable about the menu to the point where I trusted her so much, that I let her order for me. Good Recomendation Ever, the bartender made 2 of the best drinks. The Strawberry Margarita was delicious! The Strawberry Habanero Margarita is ?Disclaimer, Habanero-infused alcohol is Very hot! However, it does not mean it wasn't a well-made drink ?If you like Hot drinks and can take the spice, The Strawberry Habanero Margarita is for you?. Will be coming back on Fridays & Saturdays for the festivities.“
“The BEST FREAKING chicken fajitas I've ever eaten in my life!I love Mexican cuisine. We are from Western Kentucky and there is a Mexican restaurant around every corner it seems. We came here to see my bonus-son graduate from AIT training (Army). This place was close to where we were staying and had great reviews... so we decided to try it.The salsa, cheese dip, and nachos are the perfect combo. The salsa wasn't too spicy and the chips had that perfect crunch. The guacamole was perfect with the right amount of seasoning. Their frozen margaritas are very tasty but have a little kick to them (maybe too much triple sec). My husband ordered a steak & shrimp and it was to die for! This establishment has mastered the art of AUTHENTIC MEXICAN CUISINE ?“
“The Chile Relleno was delightful. Our attentive waiter visited our table frequently to offer refills, clear app dishes, etc.Kid-friendliness: They have a variety of options for the munchkins, boosters, and high chairs.Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant is on ground floor, has double doors, and accessible seating.“
“Always a winner!! I normally order the chicken soup to take back home...I order chicken soup from alot of Mexican restaurants but this by far is my favorite...others have tooo many tomatoes there's have none which is perfect...I know a personal preference but it really is the best soup.“
“It was the first time we stopped for lunch in Phenix, AL. The place looked new and very clean. I liked their exposed glass coolers with displayed produce. It looked nice and fresh. For our meal we had crispy chicken & guac burritos and they were awesome. At the same time a classic chicken burrito tasted a bit too salty. The whole experience was really good. I also need to add that It's hard to beat the amount of food for your buck there. I will definitely stop there again when I have a chance.“
“I always go for the same thing but I can’t help it I love it. Whether I eat there or order to go I never get a bad meal! I have given up on the other location a long time ago because they went down hill but this location has been A1 everytime I’ve gone!“
“Me, my husband, and four year old came here for a spur of the moment lunch to try something new. He got a chicken torta and I had the pork torta. They were both absolutely delicious. The cashier was super nice, we waited about 6 minutes for our food. My picky child liked the chicken on the torta a lot too. Would definitely recommend if you want a casual Mexican dining experience that is truly authentic.“
“Sooo goood. Sooo authentic. It's in the back of a Latin grocery store. I didn't know if I should choose from the fresh fruits and vegetables or go and pick up my order. I had the wet chicken burrito and nachos. The taste was fresh and full. 10 out of 10 definitely recommend.“
“I love this little place! It's a food truck, but has a little building and covered patio attached.Several tables with umbrellas set up on a gravel area outside the truck.VERY courteous staff. It is helpful if you speak Spanish as well, because the staff do. But THEIR English is much, MUCH better, than MY Spanish!I have eaten the chicken quesadilla (wonderful), the birillas (delish), and an currently about to try the burrito!“
“This was my third time at El Vaquero. I eat here when I visit my parents, two hours from home. Prices are good, food is great, service is excellent. I took my elderly parents recently and the staff was beyond kind and considerate.I've found a new favorite Mexican eatery away from home!“
“The food is always excellent here and the portions are pretty great! (I get the bowl usually) I have not been back in a few weeks, but today's visit was good with one exception; Susi. Whoever hired her must have been desperate. Not only was she rude to the customers, she was VERY rude to the other workers on the line. This would be a 5 star review if it wasnt for her!“
