Some of the best food is found where you least expect it. China Palace is such a place. If you want delicious food cook fresh using fresh ingredients, you won't be disappointed. China Palace is owned and operated by a local family. They have been serving food in Hartwell longer than any other downtown restaurant. Friendly people who value their customers. Best egg rolls you will ever eat with a special homemade duck sauce.
We recently moved to N/E Georgia from central-Ohio and have been searching for some decent, fresh, well-prepared Chinese food. We have been unsuccessful finding a decent place until tonight. We had driven by China Palace several times and we just couldn't get past the exterior of the building but the longer we live here we have learned time and time again not to judge a book by its cover. Outside is runned down and not appealing at all. Everytime I have been here there has never been anyone eating, but there has been a bag waiting for someone for takeout. The inside is outdated and not somewhere I would want to have a meal. However, the food quality is excellent, it is always hot and cooked to order.
