The Whistle Stop Cafe is a beloved restaurant that has become a must-visit destination for fans of the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. Located in the charming town of Juliette, Georgia, the cafe stays true to the movie's spirit with its authentic decor and menu. The food is cooked on-site, with nothing coming out of a can, and the portions are generous. The fried green tomatoes are a standout dish, served piping hot with a dipping sauce that has just the right amount of spice. The cafe is open from 11am-4pm on Thursdays to Sundays, and reservations are recommended due to its small capacity. The restaurant's picturesque setting, complete with original shops and a functioning train track, makes it a unique and memorable experience for movie buffs and food lovers alike.
The Whistle Stop Cafe has received positive reviews from recent customers. One family, traveling to Florida, stumbled upon the cafe and realized it was the original Whistle Stop from the Fried Green Tomatoes movie. They enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, and a dish with steak, mashed potatoes, and onion rings. They also appreciated the movie memorabilia and the stone BBQ pit. Another customer raved about the fried green tomato sandwich and the country fried steak, as well as the perfect sweet tea. A third customer, who visited with her sister, had an outstanding experience with the staff and the delicious, steaming hot food in generous portions.
