6 Best Chicken Restaurants in Monroe

“Living in Atlanta, I only knew of Huey Magoo’s through my friends in Athens. They recommended I stop by as I was driving past this location coming back from a weekend visit a year ago. The grilled chicken, the fries, THE HONEY MUSTARD (!)— I was immediately hooked. I also appreciated their workers offering to get me a refill or take away my trays once done. Service like that these days is hard to find in fast casual restaurants.

My sister and I specifically planned to stop by this location on our drive back to Atlanta today. We shared the 8 piece tender meal and they were able to accommodate half grilled half breaded for us. Alicia took our order and was very patient and kind as we worked through our final selections.

As I paid, I had a special request that I inquired about, not sure if it would be possible. She said she’d check with her manager in a few minutes. About 10 minutes later, Alicia walked over to our table with an update, taking my contact info. We got to chatting and ended up discussing iconic southern food recipes. She ended up finding a picture of her grandmother’s grape salad recipe and shared it with me! Again, so rare to find such above and beyond customer service these days.

Thankfully my sister is getting a Huey Magoo’s near her in Herndon, VA soon. PLEASE consider a location near Decatur/ Atlanta, GA!!!“

“Stopped at Chick Fil A in Monroe on way to granddaughters softball Tournament in Conyers. Madison H and Hayden D were extrememly helpful and pleasant. My order was handled perfectly and I was so excited that they sold bags of ice. That saved me from another stop. Will definitely visit this location again if I am headed out that way. I watched the employees outside working in the drjve through. They were very pleasant to the customers outside as well.“

“The drive thru experience was poor, the speaker is very quiet and I could not hear the other person very well, I had to go inside. The interior was clean and smelled great, the chicken is seasoned and breaded just right, fries came out tasting fresh. However, they forgot my sauce and I was not able to return.

The taste and fry quality of this location beats anything else nearby, definitely worth stopping by. Solid 4/5“

“Church's chicken and a pepper is unbeatable! Drive from Grayson to Monroe for this chicken. Although there is a Church's that's closer in Lawrenceville on New Hope Rd, but the food quality is poor. The Monroe, Ga location is hot and fresh.“
