About Marudham Indian Restaurant

Marudham Indian Restaurant offers a flavorful and authentic South Indian dining experience. The menu features a variety of well-prepared dishes, including dosas with flavorful sambar, Tawa fish, pepper chicken appetizer, and a range of classic Indian favorites like chicken tikka masala, shrimp biryani, and tandoori chicken. Many reviews highlight the generous portion sizes and the authenticity of the flavors, which often remind diners of homemade South Indian cooking. Rarities like ragi mudde add to the restaurant’s appeal, especially for those seeking genuine regional dishes.

While the food is consistently praised for its quality and taste, the ambiance is described as quite rundown, and the service can be inconsistent, though friendly when available. Some customers suggest ordering food to go due to long wait times for appetizers and other dishes, as staffing levels may impact service speed. Pricing is noted as being on the higher side for the casual setting, with dishes like the veg thali and desserts considered expensive, but overall, the food's quality makes it worth it.

The restaurant occasionally hosts special events, such as karaoke nights, adding to its lively atmosphere. Despite some shortcomings in decor and service, Marudham remains a popular spot for those craving authentic, well-made Indian food in a casual environment. Visitors often leave satisfied with the flavor, portions, and affordability, making it a recommended choice for authentic Indian cuisine.

Everything else we ordered - appetizers and Idiyappam - came after a really long time, so we took them to go. The Tawa fish was tasty. The pepper chicken appetizer also had freshly ground spices. Portion sizes are quite generous. The place itself is quite rundown. I would suggest getting all the...read full review
