Dave's Hot Chicken is a restaurant with a simple, consistent formula that works. The chicken is great, very hot, juicy, and cooked to perfection with crispy, thin breading. It is a corporatized hot chicken, not traditional Nashville Hot Chicken, but is a milder, flavorful version similar to styles from back home. The tenders are tender and well-drained, served on edible white bread. Portions are LARGE; the sliders are essentially large sandwiches and meals offer great value, with bulk deals available. The fries are great, crisp, well-seasoned crinkles. They also offer Not Chicken cauliflower bites that are delicious, crispy, and seasoned well.

The heat levels range from mild, which is okay and a bit vinegary, to hot, which is spicier than typical chains but manageable, to extra hot which is challenging, and the very hot reaper sauce. Dave's sauce is a typical, good mayochup with seasonings, and they provide plenty of it. Meals come with above-average pickles and condiments.
