Telfair Academy is a charming art museum located in the heart of Savannah. This small museum features a lovely collection that showcases a variety of expressions, from landscapes to portraits. Highlights include a painting of a 15-year-old boy dressed as a sheik, wall-length pictures depicting the cycle of life, and the statue of the girl from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Visitors can also enjoy an exhibit of Bonaventure with art and some copies of grand statues, along with a room of modern art. The museum offers a good balance of different art styles, with impressive works by great American artists. The main gallery houses some of the oldest paintings on display, and a comfy couch provides 360-degree views of the art while classical music plays, creating a relaxing atmosphere.
