We happen to come across The Smoking Egg while down Chatham Pkwy doing some floor shopping. Establishment was very clean, service was too notch, and food to include mimosas were beyond delicious. The wife got the smash burger and fries. Both were seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I got the Ox Tail, Collard Greens, and Mac n Cheese. Let me tell you, run don’t walk to order this! It was so good! We definitely return as I’m eyeing the crawfish.
The moment I tasted my black coffee, I knew I was in for something special. Even before my food arrived, I was already reaching for my phone, anticipating the perfect shot. I ordered the shrimp and grits with a side of pancakes—and every bite exceeded my expectations. The service was just as impressive as the food: warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The atmosphere added to the experience, filled with laughter and a joyful buzz that made everything taste even better.
Traveled from NC to visit family in Savannah, and this was our second stop off the train—thanks to a quick Google search. Let me just say… what a find! Not only was the food absolutely delicious (I had the fried whiting, grits, and eggs), but the service and vibe were on point. They played 90s R&B—my favorite—and I almost couldn’t eat from singing along.
