My server Jaylin was amazing and extremely attentive to our table. My friend was celebrating a birthday and he made sure she felt special. 10/10 service and experience!
Good home made mexican food. One of the only authentic mexican food places ive found in Statesboro. Thin, perfect chips and salsa. Hand made tortillas, homemade salsa. Menudo on the weekends.
I’d lean into the “hidden gem” story a little more while still keeping it believable. Reviews that feel personal and specific often resonate most.
I almost hate writing this review because hidden gems like this are hard to keep a secret. 😄

Zerrano’s Taqueria is a hidden gem serving authentic Mexican food in Statesboro. Though it is inside a gas station, the kitchen is spotless and the inside feels like a restaurant. The chips and salsa are thin, perfect, fresh, flavorful, and addictive. The salsa verde is some of the best, and the salsas are spicy but the menus warn of that. The cheese dip is the best, and the meats are nicely seasoned. The hand made tortillas and homemade salsa are highlights, with Menudo on the weekends. The birria tacos are the best ever eaten, perfectly seasoned, tender, juicy, and served with an amazing consommé for dipping. The food is fantastic, reasonably priced, and consistently excellent. The service is great and attentive, making celebrations feel special. The staff provides great customer service. The lack of a sign out front may throw people off, but once inside, there it is. It is hands down the best Mexican food in Statesboro and ranks among the best anywhere. Do not judge a restaurant by its location—stop scrolling, get in your car, and try this place.
