I had come in the middle of a 9 order at once frenzy. I'm a truck driver, a long day, and an even longer week. This was my one "home cooked" meal for the week. I was tired, hungry, and looking forward to something warm. My disappointment must have shown a little more than I meant, but I was polite when asked about my meal. They apologized profusely and offered to remake my meal. I declined, as I needed to get back on the road. They comped the whole meal, which I was not expecting. I tried to tell them I didn't expect that and was willing to pay... I still ate it after all. They were having none of it.
This is how you get a repeat customer, even if the experience wasn't ideal.
