“We had breakfast today, 4/10/24, at the new ownership and newly reimagined Café Mambo in Paia. The lemon ricotta pancakes with berry compote and a drizzle of sweet rosemary syrup blew the roof off. “This little Diamond in the rough was just what I needed. No one goes to Maui for Mexican food, but if you are tired of Loco Moco and Spam ain't your bag, then hit up Maui Tacos. It's a fast, casual vibe, but the food is cooked to order. I ordered the steak nachos two days in a row. The steak cost $2 more, but I thought it was worth it. You have your choice of black beans or refried as well. The menu is brightly displayed overhead on three large screens. Soft drinks are free refills. The tables have maps of Hawaii on them. So plan your next trip over tacos and tostadas. Did I mention that there's a salsa bar? Try the pickled, jalapeño vegetables and pineapple salsa, you can thank me later. My food was fresh, hot and fast. Visit for the beaches, stay for the tacos!“
