The best part about the Hilo Town Tavern is the Exhibit Gallery, which is attached to the dining area. For 8 1/2 years the Exhibit Gallery has supported many of the artists in Hilo and has been a major cultural icon. The Exhibit Gallery supports the First Friday Art Walk and other major Hilo events. I highly recommend visiting this gallery.
we walked in for early evening food. we sat at a table and waited. the overall place was not very bust there were only a few other patrons in the establishment. the table looked clean but was sticky and felt dirty. I hope this is not the regular status in this restaurant.
Great place to meet up with friends and enjoy. The food was good and the drinks was even better !

The tender and well-seasoned ribeye steak exceeds expectations. The tavern features live music, including Hawaiian tunes, which add to the lively atmosphere. Guests can enjoy casual, chill vibes and explore the selection of beers, including a nicely priced beer tower. The moco loco is a great menu option, and the lava burgers and wings are beyond expectations. The outdoor patio, pool tables, and live music create a vibrant ambiance, making Hilo Town Tavern a popular downtown destination for a late-night meal and drinks.
