A must try when you’re in Hilo! Local authentic food, big portions very friendly service overall just an amazing experience.
I have one word…. Koji’s…. Amazing food. I don’t know what they do to there food but it’s heavenly. The people are great. Inside is small and cozy but in a good way. They cook the food right in front of you. It smells amazing. Sometimes the parking is tough but anyone knows its worth driving around the block a few times. Highly highly recommended!!! Koji burger is top tier.

Koji's Bento Box is a small, cash-only hole in the wall local takeout restaurant located in downtown Hilo, next to Agasa Furniture. It has been in business forever, serving awesome plate lunches and excellent local food. Portions are huge, possibly enough for two. The menu includes items like the Koji's Loco Moco, grilled ono fish and chips, and daily specials. It is takeout only, so it is a good idea to find a spot to eat before ordering. The wait time is short, prices are excellent and lower than tourist spots, and the service is friendly. With a recent change in management, some hope it returns closer to its old style food.
