“So glad we happened to find this place in Hilo! The food was amazingly tasty and filling. We ordered a pancake and one of the spicy pork dishes. This was one of our favorite meals on the island. There are a handful of tables available inside, and they were almost all taken while we were there. Obviously everyone knows how great this place is!Would highly recommend eating here!“

“Really amazing no-frills korean food! We got the kalbi combo plate with calamari. The kalbi was so tender and flavorful and the calamari was very light, the tempura was not greasy and the squid was not rubbery or overcooked. The food is a very generous portion and comes with four sides/banchan. My favorites were the eggplant and japchae(korean style glass noodles)Very tasty food at great prices, and the staff are very friendly too. Will definitely return!“

“I wanted to see what all of the hype was about Korean corn dogs. Korean corn dogs have a batter that is made of rice flour and fried in hot oil, so they are very crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, like fried mochi. Some of them have little cubes of potato mixed into the batter so they are like crispy French fries on the outside.I was very excited to find out that "Corn Dogs by Mr. Cow" in Hilo has Korean corn dogs and wanted to try them while I have the opportunity. They were terrific! Very tasty! Not healthy, but definitely fun to experience Korean street food. You can get a sausage on the inside or mozzarella or cheddar cheese, or you can get half sausage, half cheese. We got one Mr. Cow Classic outside with half sausage, half cheddar inside, one Fried Potato outside with half sausage, half mozzarella inside, and one Flaming Potato with flaming Cheeto crumbs on the outside. We also got the cheese balls. Piggies! Highly recommend for a yummy Korean street food experience!“

“The best butterfish on the island! So ono! Fresh, flaky, buttery and moist! The first time we came here, we had to come back the next night . Now it's a must when in Hilo. Service is nice and feels like you're at your aunties or uncles house. I also like the Korean chicken salad, soloing streak, and galbi. Everything is fresh and flavorful, plenty of parking in the back.“

The owner graciously told there were a couple bento boxes left that he could save for us if we come pick it up.The food was a great variety of Korean / Hawaiian inspired meats with Korean side dishes over rice. Can’t get any better than this!“

“Best service and food. Japanese, Korean and American. The room is simple and comfortable for traditional Hilo style. Not too much decorations simple and clean. The aunties that work here have been here for a while and the young female server gives the kindest attentive service. Each time we come here we get something different but my favorite is the Korean menu. Always satisfied. Flavorful affordable and good size portions.“

“I was headed for the beach and stopped here to pick up some pupus. The ladies in the store were really sweet. I was having a hard time deciding and they were patient with me. I decided on pork tofu patties, Korean chicken, japchae, seaweed salad, shrimps cooked in egg, mandu, and a couple other things. Everything tasted great. My friends and I enjoyed it all. The price was a little steeper than other okazuyas. I think its probably better to go in with a plan!“

“I found my favorite restaurant in Hilo on the Big Island.I recommend the ribs & spice chicken combo. Of the 4 side dishes, I don't recommend the japchae because it's too spicy.Noodles are also good when you're craving hot soup. You can order without tip and eat in the common area or To Go.“

“Food was so tasty and fresh! It took a bit of time to get our food, but what I appreciated is that it taste like they made it from scratch and not just made in bulk and reheated. Worth the wait! I got my Spicy seafood noodles extra spicy and it definitely hit the spot. The seafood pancake was also very yummy!“
