My husband took a private surf lesson from Joshua. Joshua was so very patient and encouraging, even though my husband was unable to get to a standing position, through no fault of Josh. We highly recommend Big Wave Dave Surf & Coffee for all 1st time surfers.
Staff was great and both my son and I were able to surf. Lessons were amazing! We will go back!

Based on the reviews, Big Wave Dave's is the place to go, especially for newbies to surfing. The team exudes chill and is so dang nice. Instructors like Peter, Tanner, Isen, and Josh provide clear, encouraging, and easy-to-follow coaching, focusing on the practical things to get people up and surfing. They are fun, patient, and want everyone to have a great time. The photographers, like Max and Jack, are also very kind and encouraging, capturing incredible shots that make people look kinda cool. The photos turn out absolutely amazing. There's no minimum group size, which is nice. The coffee is good too, and they have some dope merch. Whether for a first surf experience or for kids, Big Wave Dave’s Coffee Surfing lesson is fantastic and a doable option for a fun and confidence-building experience.
