ono grindz...a must when go Oahu
I use to go to the Kapahulu Ave one !
We have been going to Irifune since their days in Kapahulu. We are so happy they have a new location and have brought with them the local favs (breaded tofu, Garlic Ahi Spinach Salad, Seared Ahi w/capers). New dishes are excellent as well. Support local businesses!

Irifune Restaurant is a great, unassuming Japanese spot located downtown, near the HGEA building. Known for its delicious and fresh food, the restaurant offers Japanese plate lunches and a variety of tasty dishes. Popular items include chicken karaage, which is well marinated, moist, and topped with a light, crispy batter made with cornstarch, and hambagu with ponzu sauce, served with an egg, crispy French fries, and a fresh toss salad. The sauce's citrusy tang helps make the hamburger less greasy. Customers often praise the flavorful shrimp stir fry and the light, crisp salad with a mild dressing. The restaurant is primarily take-out but provides outdoor seating, with a few tables protected by concrete blocks to prevent blowing away, and some outdoor ambiance enhanced by the presence of mosquitos. During busy lunch hours, there may be a wait of over 10 minutes since all food is made fresh to order. The staff is consistently friendly, and the prices are reasonable given the good quality food. While some favorites like seared ahi may sell out early, the restaurant remains a charming and reliable choice for Japanese cuisine in downtown Honolulu.
