Nu'uanu Okazuya Reviews
Great Okazu on the outskirts of busy downtown Honolulu. Lots of great choices and super friendly service. Auntie is so friendly and she makes sure you get a well rounded “bento”. Definitely a must stop for some serious grindage. Open 0500-1330 weekdays and 0700-1300 Sundays.

......OMG!.....Juss like Grandpa & Grandma used to make!!!
This little restaurant is great representation of Okinawan cuisine. If your in the Chinatown area...definitely go in and enjoy!

Nu'uanu Okazuya is a Japanese deli that is known for its habit-forming flavors and a unique fusion of southern and Asian cuisine. It offers a warm and friendly family-style environment that supports the community. Popular menu items include the Scott's special (chow fun, teri burger, and shoyu chicken), panko crusted furikake chicken, and Katsu Chicken, which many consider one of the best in Honolulu. The food is delicious and tasty, with large portions and a variety of small dishes that allow customers to try many items. The prices are reasonable, with the Katsu Chicken Plate Lunch being less than $11.
While the food is good, the items in the display case can be cold, so it is recommended to take out the food and reheat it. The deli opens early at 5am, making it convenient for those wanting to grab food for the day. The ambiance includes cozy seating and Japanese decor, enhancing the comfort vibe. Although the prices for each ala carte item are not displayed, customers can expect to spend about $17-$20 per plate. Both takeout and dine-in options are available, with parking available in front if spaces are open.
