Waffles near Kailua, HI

“Went there tonight after dinner for dessert. Although I've lived in Kailua for years, I've never stopped by. The management there is clearly poor. They had one, single, young lady behind the counter, taking live orders, taking payments, taking phone orders and making the waffle cones. Whoever owns this place needs to step up and hire a second person. The reason why the wait is so long is because the shop is understaffed and poorly managed. The girl was fabulous trying to accommodate everybody. I felt terrible and over tipped her. But it's the owners job to staff and pay properly not for customers to compensate her for the superhero job she's doing. I can understand why employees get sour there. The food was great. We all enjoyed our cones. Would definitely go back, but would like to see better management.“

“Charming location. The BEST acai bowl I've had at a restaurant. Their presentation is unmatched and absolutely beautiful. You will begin your eating experience with your eyes! All ingredients are fresh & local and everything is made fresh to order. Highly recommend!“

“7 Grady is said to have the best gelato in Hawaii!!A group of four girls came all the way from Waikiki to eat this haha. Just as I heard, it was so delicious and better than I could have imagined!!! I think the long walk was 120% worth it. My favorite, in particular, is the black sesame gelatoㅠㅠ I will definitely come back to Hawaii, so I promised to come again then!“

“I happened to be in the area and remembered about this shop. The owner was the. She's very friendly. The shop is clean and the decor is nice. I ordered the Italian savory waffle. It's a good size and filling for me. I decided to take it out instead of eating in. It was packed nicely. I shared it with my cousin. It was tasty and filling.“

“Reasonably priced fun ice cream in a bubble waffle with a few toppings. Would have given 5 stars, but the limited time special flavor “cookie monster” that was labeled to taste like cookie dough and oreo, tasted completely like coconut. An odd flavor that is not present according to the menu, but a friend of mine and her niece ordered the same flavor, and confirmed the flavor was not as described. We brought up the disappointment and opinion to the owner (i believe) and he took it as if he really cared about our business and offered to make a new one, but we declined because we were not in the mood for another, plus the taste of it wasn’t disgusting, just edible so we stated we could just finish it… He assured us we could come back another time for a redo of another flavor to our liking. Really appreciated his efforts, so we will return soon.“

“I was in the Ala Moana area for an appointment and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. I'm so glad that this placed popped up on Yelp. The waffles here are light and crispy and the red bean smoothie was lightly sweet and refreshing. Keep in mind that it is located in Palma Supermarket, so parking can be a bit tricky. I would definitely go again in the future.“

“First time on the island and our first morning of our honeymoon vacay and this place hit the spot! Wait time wasn't too long and the food was AMAZING! The service was incredible as well. My husband got the Hawain omlette and he devoured it, I got the banana pancake with Chantilly sauce and coconut on top (get the short stack!) It was the biggest pancake I've ever seen, I didn't even finish half and it made a great sgter swimming snack ? thank you Moena Cafe for a wonderful breakfast experience!“

“We came here on a weekday around 1130 with no wait! They have a Yelp waitlist that is convenient to use if you go during a busy time For 2 people we got the macadamia pancakes , loco moco and taro latte. The pancakes were tasty, but I wish there was some type of sauce like the ube pancakes they have. The loco moco was yummy. Ut was flavorful and had a lot of gravy. The taro latte was ok, a bit sweet for my liking. Overall I would definitely go back!“

“Pancakes & Waffles BLD located in the Dillingham Square Shopping Center. Long time local favorite for fried chicken and waffles. They have a great selection of local dishes for lunch as well. Locally owned and operated. The staff is always great. Plenty of room in the dining area. Take outs are always. available.“

“Fantastic! Mostly locals, excellent macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup. The eggs Benedict was really good, we asked for bacon and hash browns extra crispy and that's just how they arrived. The staff was super friendly and warm despite all our special requests...and the prices were very reasonable. They do serve food on paper plates with plastic forks, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the meal thoroughly. My husband got the mahi mahi plate and he enjoyed that as well“
